𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: 𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆’𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗜𝗚

What began as a six-week summer internship became the launchpad for a meaningful career. Through our HIG Summer PILOT Internship Program, Bailey explored departments, gained hands-on experience, and built lasting connections. Today she’s continuing her journey as an intern in our Employee Benefits department- bringing her curiosity, drive, and fresh perspective to the team.

Our PILOT program was designed to do more than fill a summer- it was built to spark careers. With real-world projects, dedicated mentorship, and a culture that values growth, interns like Bailey discovered what it truly means to thrive at HIG.

Our 6-week HIG Pilot Summer Internship Program recently came to a close, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our interns accomplished. The final week was packed with mock interviews, a spirited HIG scavenger hunt, and Capstone Presentation Day—where interns presented their research and reflections to managers, mentors, and execs.

Throughout the program, interns completed the “Intro to Insurance” course from The Council, building a strong foundation in the commercial insurance brokerage space. We’re also excited to share that we’ve been 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 $𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 through the Council Foundation Scholarship Program!

Huge thanks to Alex Wood and our Talent & Culture Team for planning and executing this program—and to our incredible mentors for pouring into the interns every step of the way.

HIG PILOT Summer Internship Program Week 2 ✈️

Our interns explored what it means to show up with purpose—starting with a team challenge to style professional outfits for real-world scenarios.

They also dove into the evolving role of AI in the workplace and heard powerful stories about career growth, motivation, and received valuable advice. Thank you to Taine Wilson and Mike Baas for sharing your insights and experiences with our interns.

Each experience is designed to challenge our interns to think, lead, and grow.
