BOULDER BASH is Back for the 4th year!!! . Starting Tuesday July 7th, Boulder Bash is a 5 week FREE boulder competition hosted by Central Rock Gym Harvard Square. More info below and at our Link in Bio! . Each week on Tuesdays as usual, the setting team will reset 1 section with new routes by 4pm. Competitors will log their hardest 3 ascents per week on a scorecard we will have available all summer at the front desk. CRG Staff will tally the scores, and the sum of these scores will comprise 1/3 of your Final Score. Scorecards must be turned in to the desk at the end of your climb daily, and we will store them until your next visit. Traveling for a week or so? We have you covered. After the final week of boulder bash we will drop your lowest or missed week. . On Saturday, August 15th, the setting team will do a larger reset for a Final Day Event, and participants will have only that day to log their hardest 3 ascents of this new set. This day is important to attend and will weigh more in determining your final score. This event is an awesome chance to challenge yourself to climb your hardest and see what you’re capable of, while having some fun competing against others of a similar skill level! Week 1 begins July 7th, scorecards will be at the front desk throughout the weeks just ask for one, and get crushing! Weeks: July 7th -13th July 14th – 20th July 21st – 27th July 28th – August 3rd August 4th – 10th Boulder Bash Saturday August 15th – and awards following Boulder Bash! How it Works You will compete to send your hardest climbs, earning points in the process with the hope of out-scoring other competitors. Routes will be labeled with a point value instead of a grade. Participants will earn points for each route they send, which they will record on the provided scorecard. Sends must be verified by obtaining a witnesses’ initials on the scorecard. Each route will remain active to score points on for at least 7 days, after which, those routes will revert to our standard grading and points can no longer be earned. Coffee tasting tour by @docao.coffee ☕ Today's selection included beans from Chinese roasters 🇨🇳 📍@limeredteahouse Brookline, MA Whether you are new to coffee, drink it to survive, or have a full on barista/coffee machine set up at home, Michelle and Khoa made this experience accessible and fun. Each type of coffee bean (there were 6 types) was grinded in a blender, passed around to take in the aroma, and then slow poured for a couple mins with hot water. The pacing was perfect, as there was enough to take in the aroma, taste, and have discussions. We even got complimentary tiramisu from @limeredteahouse to take a break halfway through the tasting. The tasting came with a card with the origins of all the beans that would be served in the tasting and how it was processed, and pens to write down notes which were very thoughtful. I learned a lot about how huge of a difference the way coffee is served, prepared, and the selection can impact the experience from person to person. Even the water that's used to filter the coffee matters. Coffee beans were accidentally snorted, got caffeinated, had coffee that tasted like melon~, and I was around great company. I'm sensitive to caffeine and I experienced zero headaches in the aftermath of consuming 6 different types of coffee which was heaven for me. Thank you @baka3rabbit and @khoa1344 for this experience. Everything we devoured last weekend at @eatgalak first pop-up @mimischukadiner 📍 Somerville Thank you to @chefashleylujares @peeetahhhhh and the Gálak team for this delicious experience bringing comfort Filipino & Vietnamese eats together. This was my first time at Mimi's and I love the retro diner aesthetic of the space. Will definitely be back. Now for the mains. Dare I say that Gálak's fried chicken recipe and gravy sauce tastes x1000 times better than Jolibee 😳 One of the best fried chickens I've had in a LONG TIME and I'd come back again for it. My other favorites were the glizzy, which the sauce combinations went so well together. You could really taste all the different flavors, it was an explosion of flavors from sweet, savory, spicy, to creamy. The appetizers were simple and the flavors were familiar, with the exception that the toppings on the corn made it extra savory. The fish filet was not like anything I've had before and it wasn't until I re-read the menu, googled what rillette was and understood why the inside of the patty looked like a paste than the tear apart fish that you'd expect at a Mcdonald fish-filet. The thick sauce on top included both caviar and Vietnamese sa tế tartare which gave the whole sandwich a fishier and spicy kick. If fishy is your cup of tea, you'd love this sandwich. Overall it was a great experience coming to fusion pop-ups. There were familiar and unique/different flavors I've haven't had before, especially with the fish fillet sauce. In April 2025, Khoa and I had the privilege to tour and try coffee being grown outside the coffee belt in Okinawa, Japan. We missed the harvest season and this year the harvest was particularly bad due to weather conditions making it extra special that we got to even taste Okinawa beans! The highlight of this tour was being able to taste my favourite bean from cherry, a caturra. The fruit itself was vegetal with a hint of fruit and it was so cool to hold the beans in my hands.
