September’s Milestone Moments are here 🎉 And I LOVE doing these because there’s always such a mix of what counts as a big deal when you run your own business. Launches, decisions, record months, new clients, awards, anniversaries, things selling out! All very different. All absolutely worthy of a proper LOOK WHAT I DID moment. So have a flick through and give this month’s brilliant bunch some love 👏 And of course, one milestone has been picked at random to win a free online networking session… 🥁 @tropicwithesther 🥁 it just had to be! This win has been something she has been working towards for YEARS! So this month isn’t random but it’s a huge fckin well done girl 👏 October is already underway, so if something happens this month that makes you think YESSSS, bank it for the next one. Big, small, serious or slightly ridiculous. I want to hear it. 🏆 You can submit your October milestone via the link in my bio.

Campaign thinking works in ANY business. My career in fashion & retail has meant I’ve seen, planned and executed many campaigns across product launches, seasons, collections and key trading moments. However I’ve also worked with consumer-led businesses across different industries, and I’m always excited about how we can apply campaigns to drive their marketing forward. Campaign storytelling gives you one clear idea to rally your marketing around. It connects the dots between your channels, gives your business an incredible opportunity to get creative and takes your consumer on a journey with you. One campaign can travel across social, email, website, PR, partnerships, events, sales and in-store, meaning your channels work together rather than operating as separate marketing islands. And they’re not just reserved for big brands with big budgets. A restaurant, wellness business, lifestyle store or service provider can all think in campaigns. It’s about connecting the dots, and that’s the magic of campaign thinking: it beautifully ties your brand, marketing and sales together into one cohesive engine. And the more creative you can get, the better…! 📸 Pics are campaigns I built recently for clients @ourgoodsunday and @joinvhyne What’s the best or most unexpected campaign you’ve seen recently?

✨ Behind the Studio A little look behind the studio… The last couple of weeks have been full of colourful outfits, familiar faces, new connections and some brilliant events across Reading. Here’s a little peek behind the studio… 🌊 Reading Waterfest One of my highlights was volunteering at Reading Waterfest for the second year running, once again modelling in the Sustainable Fashion Show. Reading’s annual celebration of the town’s waterways is always packed with music, performances, activities and local organisations, making it one of my favourite events of the summer. Every outfit on the catwalk was made up of second-hand, vintage or pre-loved pieces, and my own homemade festival braids made an appearance too! 🌈 📸 Thanks to Stuart Turkington Photography for the brilliant photos. 🍷 First Friday Club My first First Friday Club at Vino.Vita was a lovely afternoon of catching up with familiar faces and meeting lots of new people. I spent so long chatting that by the time I reached the pizza and antipasti there wasn’t much left… 😂 (Networking priorities!) I even got roped into helping draw the raffle winners. 📸 Professional photos are from the official First Friday Club website, I’ll tag the photographer if I can find. 🎨 Berkshire Creatives I also headed along to Berkshire Creatives, organised by Helen Ridley, bringing together creatives and small businesses from across Berkshire. One of my favourite moments was chatting with silhouette artist Sarah Head, who somehow created my silhouette while we were talking. You’ll also spot a few of the business cards I picked up, just a handful of the brilliant people I met that morning. 🍔 Shake Shack To round things off, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Shake Shack Friends & Family preview before the official opening in Reading. It was great to have a sneak peek before launch day… and yes, I’ll definitely be back! 🍟 💜 Thanks for having a peek behind the studio with me. See you in the next one! 👋✨

The biggest misconception about brand is that it’s your logo, colours & fonts. Your brand is the very foundations of your business; it’s what your whole sales and marketing strategy relies upon. It’s how you speak, it’s your business personality, it’s how you make your audience FEEL, and it’s the reason why they ultimately want to buy from you. (Or not) Every business has a brand, but every business is completely unique 🫶 so your brand strategy needs to be too. The first step is a 30min call to get to know your business, each other and your unique challenges. From single strategic sessions to full CMO support, there’s always a solution to get your business fired up and cooking with gas again ❤️‍🔥 Just click the link in bio to book your chat 💬 Vanessa x @vanessaeves @bake.brands

This kitchen is different... Bake’s Chef’s Kitchen is for established SME’s who understand just how important humanised marketing is to their business - AND to their customers. Before stepping into the kitchen we love to have a really good chat to understand your challenges & build a recipe that hits all the right notes to get you cooking with gas again. We all start somewhere… For me? The beginning was growing my account as a fashion creator while working full time in sales & marketing. It was like sliding doors, two parallel worlds that I loved but had no idea how they could connect. Then came the moments: realising I wanted to share more than just surface level content. I started to go deeper. Tell stories. Connect with my audience. Meanwhile, working in a volatile industry and…. redundancies. One, two, three, four, and the last 5th & final redundancy. 😮‍💨 The universe repeatedly smacking me in the face with a sign I’d outgrown my current path. Two kids, becoming a Mum, realising I didn’t fit back into the same box after having kids. And a growing, genuine desire to help people. So: Redundancies. A pivot. The career I outgrew. 👉 It’s these stories that create instant connection with YOUR ideal client, but if you’re not sharing them, well, that’s why they’re scrolling on past 👈 Fast forward to today: I’ve fused 20 years experience in sales & marketing with brand building content to found @bake.brands - helping you with humanised marketing that builds connection & revenue… and stops you sounding like everyone else 🙃 We’ve got a kick arse menu of services @bake.brands but if you want to tell stories that set people on fire then you need The Golden Thread: our ingredient sprint that builds the ultimate messaging & storytelling system. Just comment GOLDEN & I’ll send you the details 😘 Or click on the link in my bio @vanessaeves to book a discovery call 📞 Vanessa x

I’ve been paying attention to conversations recently with small to medium sized business owners. There’s no denying it’s a tough market out there. But damn you guys are hustling; you’re building businesses, getting in those clients/customers and cracking on with your content. However, you’re feeling a disconnect… this is what I’m hearing: ➡️Your sales feel inconsistent and you can’t quite pinpoint why some things aren’t landing. ➡️You know your business is strong but it’s not standing out in an increasingly crowded market. ➡️You’re showing up, posting, putting things out there… but it’s not translating into enquiries or revenue. ➡️And in some cases you’re trying to work more efficiently, but you’re feeling a disconnect from your business, and your audience is too. Enter…. Bake 🥣 I created Bake Brands to support the brilliant founders who are ready to unlock the next-level potential for their business - no matter what size or industry. Because the cause of the problem is almost always the same. And Bake has the answers. We cook up marketing that bites across: 🍽️ Clear & unique brand identities 🍽️ Marketing strategy you can sink your teeth into 🍽️ Messaging that makes your ideal client SCA-REAM YES 🍽️ Social Media strategy that sets you apart 🍽️ Creative campaigns that feel insanely you 🍽️ AI integration for strategic support - but not letting it speak FOR you And so much more… From our fully baked service (your brand cooked end to end) to our smaller, specialised ingredient sprints, it’s never been easier to bake Damn Good Strategy into your business. If you’re ready to shake things up in your biz, just slide on into my DM’s and I’ll send you over the menu 📃
