We started this business with two candles.

Those two candles turned into four, and before we knew it, markets and pop-up shops became the bread and butter of our little business. To this day, we are endlessly grateful to the people who invited us to sell our products at their markets and events. Those opportunities truly gave us our start and allowed us to grow into something more.

So it feels incredibly full circle to now have a space where we can offer that same opportunity to other talented individuals who have dreams of growing their own businesses.

Today was our very first market at G&G Home, and the turnout exceeded our wildest dreams. So many of our vendors completely sold out of their goods, and the entire day felt like something straight out of a movie. It was everything we hoped it could be and more.

Thank you to everyone who came, shopped, supported, shared, and showed us so much love. We are so incredibly blessed and so excited for all that is to come.

Love,
G&G

Witchy Birthday Vibes 🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♂️🧙🏽

I feel so incredibly grateful for my friends and family! I had a lovely birthday celebration, even though my actual birthday is November 1st and I’ll be off on an East Coast trip that week.

It had been a while since I hosted a dinner, and I really enjoyed every moment of it. We feasted on so much delicious food, including a stunning black velvet cake from @bakedbynoor @noorbhatti that stole the show!

A friend had asked me about my potlucks and gatherings, and it made me realize just how important they’ve been for me since moving to the U.S.

When I first arrived, I didn’t know anyone other than my husband. Coming from a big family and a very large community, it was a huge adjustment.

It all began around 2016, a year after I moved to Wisconsin. My first gatherings were with my husband’s family, but I soon found a community through Instagram. Joining a foodie group in 2017 was a game-changer. Although those meetups became bigger and less personal, I formed some incredible long-term friendships.

As a former chef, I’ve always believed that food brings people together. I loved hosting dinners featuring dishes from around the world, sharing my stories with a group of friends who enjoyed my cooking just as much. But when COVID hit, everything changed. Our gatherings got smaller, and we adapted by dropping off meals for one another or meeting outdoors to stay connected.

Then, in late August 2023, I took a big step and bought my first house! While I didn’t have a regular schedule for hosting, I found myself inviting friends over for various reasons—meeting new partners, celebrating birthdays, or just enjoying each other’s company.

Even though I cherish my alone time, these gatherings have shown me how vital community is, especially as an immigrant. Creating a space where diverse people can feel at home, share good food, and connect over shared experiences has been so rewarding. I’ve witnessed so many friendships blossom, and it warms my heart.

So here’s to the magic of community, the joy of good food, and the beautiful tapestry of humanity!
