THE SHAPE GOT THE ATTENTION. THE STABILITY MIGHT BE THE STORY.

100 in². An unusual 18Ɨ18 stringbed. And now, two PP01 prototype configurations.

In his October 3 first impressions, Tennisnerd reported:

* A relatively low launch angle
* Moderate power
* Impressive stability against incoming pace
* Strong control when driving through the ball

He preferred the more maneuverable regular PP01, while the heavier Tour delivered additional mass and stability.

These are independent tester impressions, not final Babolat specifications or our playtest.

Would you trade easier topspin for that kind of stability?

Everyone recognizes the new Babolat Pure Aero paintjob.

But how many players are actually using the new-generation frame underneath?

On the ATP Tour, a fresh paintjob doesn’t always mean a new racket.

The Top 40 player in these photos is particularly interesting. Equipment reports have linked his setup to a 2026-generation Pure Aero mold, rather than just the latest cosmetic.

And no, it’s not Carlos Alcaraz.

Can you guess who it is? šŸ‘€

THE FIRST SPANIARD TO WIN SHANGHAI. šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡øšŸ†

One match point away from elimination. Now a Masters 1000 champion.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina saved a match point against Frances Tiafoe earlier in the tournament, then recovered from a set and a break down to defeat Rafael Jódar in the final.

1–6, 7–6(5), 6–4.

His first Masters 1000 title. His third ATP singles title of 2026.

And there’s a fascinating racket story behind the moment.

THE NEW HEAD EXTREME PRO 2026

HEAD includes Davidovich Fokina among the players endorsing its latest Extreme range.

The new retail Extreme Pro features:

• 98 in² head size
• 305 g unstrung weight
• 315 mm unstrung balance
• 16Ɨ19 string pattern
• Hy-Bor and Auxetic 2.0 technology

But the retail specifications don’t necessarily describe his professional setup.

WHAT’S UNDER THE PAINT?

A match-used racket auction documented a HEAD PT348.1 attributed to Fokina’s 2023–24 seasons, strung with Luxilon ALU Power and HEAD Hawk Power.

A later Tennisnerd report identified a different frame: HEAD PT333.2, with reported specifications of:

• 340 g strung
• 32 cm balance
• 330 swingweight
• HEAD Hawk Rough / Hawk Power at 25/24 kg

These are historical reports, not independently confirmed measurements of the racket used in the 2026 Shanghai final. His setup may have changed.

The TGT348.1 is part of the Extreme Tour Pro Stock story — and we have one available at Tennis Rackets Europe. It is not presented as Fokina’s personal racket or an identical championship build.
