A collected mix of old and new gives this Mount Pleasant living space a sense of ease. Warm tones, layered textiles, favorite pieces gathered over time, and plenty of natural light make it a room meant to be lived in. #taylorhillinteriordesign

Watch us bring this beauty to life

There’s a lot happening at Topwater right now — and this is only the beginning.

From Old Mt. Pleasant to Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms and beyond, we have a growing collection of projects underway, each with its own setting, design, and story — but all approached the same way: with intention from the ground up.

Some are still on paper. Some are breaking ground. Some are already taking shape. And we’re excited to bring you along as each one comes to life.

A lot to build. Even more to come.
Designed with intention.
Built the right way.
Built by Topwater.

After a brief move away, Diana and Gabe Garrett returned to Mount Pleasant's Old Village and transformed a cramped 1970s ranch into a light-filled home that reflects their family's creativity, resilience, and love of community.

What began as a modest house evolved into a thoughtfully designed retreat, complete with a reimagined kitchen, colorful gathering spaces, a dedicated art studio, and room for each of their three sons to thrive.

The renovation tells the story of a family shaped by art, neighborhood, and home.

We’ve been counting down the days to finally share our Edisto project. This home holds a special place in our hearts—Edisto has felt like a second home to me since I was a little girl. And getting to bring this project to life for clients who have become dear friends made it even more meaningful.

We don’t build homes around trends.
We build them around materials that age beautifully.
Around rooms that invite conversation.
Around light.
Around craftsmanship.
Around the belief that luxury is often found in restraint.
Wayne became the clearest expression of that philosophy.

A New Perspective.

The best design rarely asks for your attention.

It earns it.

Not all at once, but over time.

With every room that naturally leads to the next.
Every material softened by changing light.
Every detail that quietly finds its place.

Some homes are beautiful the moment you arrive.

The best ones continue to reveal themselves.

What Architects Notice…
Most of us walk into a home and notice the furniture.
Architects notice the light.
The proportion of an arch.
The rhythm of a row of windows.
The craftsmanship in a custom detail.
The way one room quietly leads to the next.

These photographs capture Wayne Street through the architect’s lens—not as an empty house, but as a collection of thoughtful decisions.

One of the things I loved most about this project was that the architecture and interiors were never separate conversations. From the very beginning, every material, finish, and detail was considered together, each decision building upon the last.

The best homes aren’t created by an architect or a designer.
They’re created through collaboration.

And when that happens, people may not always know why a home feels different...

They just know it does.

The most memorable homes are layered with spaces that invite you to live a little differently throughout the day.

A welcoming entry. A kitchen that naturally becomes the heart of the home. Spaces to gather, spaces to retreat, and porches that blur the line between indoors and out.

Thoughtfully designed for the way life is actually lived.

The Fourth of July weekend has arrived, and there’s something special about celebrating at home. 🇺🇸

The sound of kids riding bikes, flags lining the streets, neighbors gathering on front porches, and ending the day beneath a sky full of fireworks—these are the moments that make a house feel like home.

Wayne was designed for days just like these. A place where timeless architecture meets everyday living, and where some of life’s sweetest memories are made.

Wishing you and your family a safe, joyful, and memorable Independence Day weekend.
