we’ve gotten really good at confusing appearances with success.⁣ ⁣ followers.⁣ fully booked calendars.⁣ the expensive things.⁣ the “hustle.”⁣ ⁣ do they matter … for sure. sometimes. but i’ve learned that those things, 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀, don’t actually mean much.⁣ ⁣ to me…⁣ ⁣ it’s only a flex if your team is growing with you.⁣ it’s only a flex if your business is actually healthy.⁣ it’s only a flex if you’re learning and applying what you learn.⁣ it’s only a flex if you can actually enjoy your life outside of work.⁣ it’s only a flex if you’re fulfilled.⁣ it’s only a flex if you can lay your head on the pillow at night feeling proud of how you showed up.⁣ it’s only a flex if you have people you love to celebrate with.⁣ ⁣ 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲. 🔑 these are some of the ways i like to define success for myself… and yes i’m always learning and growing. none of these are destinations you simply arrive at and stop doing the work. but they are things i will ALWAYS be striving and working to maintain. 🤍⁣ ⁣ this isn’t about judging anyone else’s definition of success. it’s just a reminder to build a life that feels as good on the inside as it might look on the outside. 🤍⁣ ⁣ the longer i’m in this industry, the less i’m impressed by what people flex on the gram… and the more i’m impressed by how they live.⁣ ⁣ because the greatest flex isn’t just 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 successful.⁣ ⁣ it’s creating a life you genuinely don’t need to escape from.⁣ ⁣ which one of these resonates most with you?! ⁣ ⁣ with love and gratitude,⁣ xxalexandra ⁣ ⁣ #itsnotaboutthehair 🦋⁣ ⁣ 📸 @mia_staygold ⁣ 💋 @kris.beaute
