That’s a wrap!

Eight shows and twenty-one crows. Blood packs and pork buns. And the absolute greatest cast and crew.

Huge thanks to @tincancontingency, @charlesemangan, @samo.zeas for bringing Dragoness to life and giving it a home in the South Bronx.

There are so many incredible aspects of being a professor. High on the list of best parts of my job is seeing our students out in the world, continuing to choose this art form and eachother. What an absolute thrill to see Dragoness again, so many years after its powerhouse premiere. It was everything I remembered—cutting, smart, funny, and surprising. But it has also grown, as have the young artists who brought this production to life. It is ambitious. Audacious. Unapologetic. Everything I love in a night at the theater.

5:30pm: La Cueva Fonda, 961 Leggett Ave.
Head to this Michelin Bib Gourmand spot in the Bronx to start your perfect Theatre Night Out. Their pozole is bomb, but get anything on the menu and you'll be satisfied!

7:00pm: Dragoness, Inspiration Point, 710 Tiffany St.
Then head to Inspiration Point to catch Tin Can Contingency's New York premiere of Thai-American playwright Cha Mangan's "Dragoness," a high-octane, satirical commentary on race and creating art under capitalism which interrogates the ethics of reinventing identity in order to satisfy the expectations of those in power. It ends this week, so catch it while you can!

8:30pm: Billy's, 856 River Ave.
After the show, head to Billy's, a classic post-game bar, for a post-show drink!

(Dragoness runs through 6/7, so get your tickets now!)
