Recognition is easy. Funding is what actually moves the work forward.

CLLCTIVGIVE is here. Twenty four hours of giving in support of Black led organizations building stronger communities across Greater Baltimore. For three consecutive years, this day has moved more than $1 million in a single day.

Eight Baltimore Homecoming Heroes are part of it this year:

Rev. Dr. Heber M. Brown III, Black Church Food Security Network
Jayme Wooten, CLLCTIVLY
Kayenecha Daugherty, Creative Nomads
Atiya Wells, Backyard Basecamp
Tyde-Courtney Edwards, Ballet After Dark
Nykidra Robinson, Black Girls Vote
Elijah Miles, Tendea Family
Fred Watkins, Big Laughs & Lil Laughs

CLLCTIVGIVE is produced by CLLCTIVLY, founded by 2019 Homecoming Hero Jayme Wooten. Our Heroes are not just doing the work. They built the day that funds it.

Find an organization you believe in and give today at cllctivgive.com.

“The more you know about your history, the more you understand your responsibility to the future.”

During the Baltimore Opening Plenary, young people explored the stories, sacrifices, and leaders that helped shape this city, from the harbor and historic architecture to the legacy of Lillie May Carroll Jackson and Thurgood Marshall.

What stood out most was hearing youth connect the past to their own futures. One young person reflected on the struggles people endured so future generations could have opportunities today. Another left inspired to pursue law after learning about Baltimore’s civil rights history.

When young people understand the history of their city, they begin to see their place within it and the power they have to shape what comes next.

Honeybees 🐝,

I directed “Ballet After Dark” because I believe in telling stories that matter.

This film was inspired by the work of Tyde-Courtney Edwards, who created a space in Baltimore for survivors of trauma to find healing through dance. That kind of work is powerful.

It’s also important to me to document the stories of Black women and girls. Our lives are layered, nuanced, and worthy of being seen with care, intention, and truth.

I’m always grateful to tell stories of women who continue to rise, who find healing, who choose resilience again and again.

In honor of Women’s History Month, on March 14th, NCNW had the opportunity to attend the Her Haven Women’s Wellness & Creative Brunch hosted by the Ask Foundation at the Enoch Pratt Free Library.

This space was rooted in connection, reflection, and empowerment and bringing together women across campus and community to pour into one another through meaningful conversation, wellness centered dialogue, and creative expression. From leadership insights to moments of intentional reflection, the experience truly embodied what it means to build and nurture community among women.

We are especially proud of our NCNW members who served as speakers and contributed their voices to such a powerful space. Your leadership continues to inspire and uplift.

We also want to extend our appreciation to all of the incredible organizations and individuals who were present and contributed to the energy of the event. A special thank you to Ballet After Dark for the impactful work and presence you brought into the space.

Moments like these remind us of the power of sisterhood, collaboration, and collective growth. 💟
