Thank you, Edmonton!

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for the opening night of ORIGIN. Seeing the work come to life on stage and sharing this moment with our audience means so much to all of us at Ballet Edmonton.

We have one more show tonight and a matinee tomorrow! If you haven’t had the chance to join us yet, we would love to see you there.

Come experience our 2026/27 season opener and celebrate this new chapter with us.

We are thrilled to welcome Joshua Beamish back to Edmonton for Ballet Edmonton’s season opener, ORIGIN.

An Edmonton-born choreographer and Artistic Director of Ballet Vancouver, Joshua is an internationally recognized artist whose work has been presented across Canada and around the world. With deep roots in our city, we are especially excited to have him back home to share his work with our dancers and audiences.

Joshua’s acclaimed work SALT joins Hymnus to the Unseen by Diego Ramalho and Tethered Thoughts by Emerging Choreographer Samuel Ramos in ORIGIN.

We can’t wait to share it with you.

I’m very happy to present Samuel Ramos @samueldiego38 as our first Emerging Choreographer of the season.

I believe artists learn by creating, by experimenting, taking risks, asking questions, and discovering their own voice.

I was given these opportunities throughout my career. They have changed my life. That’s what I believe in, and what I want Ballet Edmonton to keep offering its artists.

One more space for artists to imagine, experiment, and bring something new into the world.

This week, we welcomed Calder White @calderwhite to Ballet Edmonton to begin setting SALT by Joshua Beamish @jjbeamish on our dancers.

Having danced SALT himself in 2024, Calder brought a unique perspective on the work into the studio.

What inspired us most was his deep love for movement — a generosity, curiosity, and joy that travelled through every step, every detail, and every moment in the studio.

Thank you, Calder, for sharing your passion, your artistry, and your love for dance with us.
