YOWGI for @maarsmagazine

I had the chance and the honor to be able to produce this latest work for @maarsmagazine. I tried as much as possible to bring my world and my inspirations to celebrate the clothing of my country. Another big thank you to @san.asna and the entire team behind this project.

Yowgi designates nostalgia, the lack perceived in Hassanya. Indeed, in my work my nostalgia is an integral part of my works, from the medium used (Polaroid) to the meaning of my photographs. Yowgi is a series combining nostalgia for West Africa with a look influenced by fashion and the work of great West African photographers.

Nouvel editorial disponible sur maars-magazine.com

L'éditorial du mois donne carte blanche au photographe d'origines mauritanienne et sénégalaise @ogbech_. De cette collaboration découle un travail en deux temps, dont les intitulés tirent leurs noms du hassanya, dialecte arabe parlé en Mauritanie :
Yowgui (désigne la nostalgie, le manque perçu) et Ewlad el Shor (Les Enfants Magiques). Bechir explique avoir voulu s'amuser en créant différents sets, tout en rendant hommage aux vestiaires ouest-africains.
