53 years ago, I met this lovely girl @debbyray2 - 53! Let’s just take a moment to process that, shall we? That’s over half a century and our friendship is still going strong and in all honesty, Deb looks EXACTLY the same as she used to, all those years ago - annoying, isn’t it? 😏 We met on the first day of secondary school in Rye and although life and time has taken us both in different directions over the decades: marriage(s, in my case! 🤭), children, work and home….when we do meet up, it’s just like the years melt away and we’re back to our years at school - it seems just like yesterday! Treasure the Debby’s in your life - I know I do!! Anywayyyyy… mushy stuff aside. We thought it would be lovely to have an early Autumn lunch at @tibbsfarm - overlooking the hop-fields and the beautiful Tillingham Valley - what a glorious view, huh? Tibbs Farm is holding its third annual Hopfest festival today and it’s going to be a doozy! Celebrating beers, ales, lagers and stouts, ciders, juices and soft drinks from local producers like: @harveysbrewery @brewingbrothersbrewery @longmanbrewery @ryewaterworks @tonbridgebrewery @kodabrewingco @biddendencider @nightingalecider and their own @tibbsfarm apple juices Then there are brewers from further afield like: @hook_norton_brewery and @teamutopian showcasing their wares to be tried. On top of that there’s live music from local bands and some amazing food in the form of freshly-made pizzas from: @wildflamepizza. There’s also a shuttle bus, operated by @empress_coaches_1929 departing regularly on a first come-first served basis to and from Rye Station! What more could you want, honestly? Oh! And in the event of rain, even that’s been thought of, you’ll be dancing the night away under the cover of: @bamboo.logy’s amazing Temple structure. Just look at that work of art!! So all in all, it’s the perfect evening to celebrate the Tibbs Family Farm’s 336th annual hop harvest, isn’t it? Walk-in tickets are available this evening - so what’s stopping you? The Recomposition Retreat was my first retreat catering experience since becoming a mother — and what a blessing it was 💚 Set deep in nature and completely off-grid, this weekend felt like a true return to self. There was something so special about nourishing people while surrounded by the elements, simplicity and stillness. Cooking off-grid — with no sink and just two solar-powered hobs — definitely came with its challenges, but it made the experience all the more rewarding! ☀️ And one of the biggest blessings? Working alongside my soul sister @manifaestations, who I originally studied yoga with in Guatemala, 2018. Life really does have a beautiful way of bringing us full circle 🤍 I was in awe of @bamboo.logy artistry and made the most of @offgridsauna each night — unwinding under the stars 🌙 ✨ I’m now open for retreat catering bookings — if you’re planning a retreat and would love nourishing, wholesome food for your guests, I’d love to hear from you. ✨ DM me for enquiries.

This weekend we hosted our first Recomposition Retreat. What begun as a murmur whilst listening to @sriprembaba , realising how much being outside-based had changed my life, I wished to run a simple retreat, where the practice of Yoga became a tool to open our eyes and hearts to the abundance that lies around and within us. The land came alive with yogis waking at sunrise, to meditate with the dawn chorus, and move to the first warmth of the rising sun. We feasted on gigantic blackberries picked across valley walks, bathed in the chilly waters of an ancient spring, laid back to back with supportive oaks, and journeyed through the liminal Nidra lands to the sound of distant thunder. It was a dream come true to finally work with @sara.earthchef having met at our first Yoga Teacher Training at @mysticalyogafarm Guatemala back in 2018. Sara made the most of our VERY rustic set up and created nourishing dishes themed around what’s growing a few miles down the road at @stonelynkorganics . Pushing all of our meals 10 acres up a hill in a wheelbarrow was a feat of endurance I’m not sure I briefed you on - so grateful for your enthusiasm and the time we got to spend together. Throughout the weekend we were held in the cocoon of @bamboo.logy ‘s creations, part of the nomadic temple became both our Shala and dining room. Evenings warmed by the fire of the @offgridsauna were a real highlight. All the behind the scenes endless support in transforming spaces, last minute shops (I forgot we ate soup out of bowls!) and personal care - I am so grateful. An additional thank you to my mama @joannaterryceramics for being the best hoarder, and always having bounties of bowls and pots for whenever I need them! To the beautiful people who created this retreat, with heart felt conversation round the dinner table, vibrating sauna AUM’s, who embarked on cold showers, compost toilets, long grass (and all the creatures who call it home) thank you for your open minds, I am grateful for your trust in taking care of YOU this weekend. And the greatest thank you to the land at Symbol Farm, for holding us with tenderness and strength (continued in comments)

A postcard from The Wild Stride! It’s now been a week since we set off together from Hastings, sharing miles of Sussex countryside, live music, conversations with strangers who quickly became friends, and finishing with an evening of music overlooking the Tillingham Valley. Thank you to every single person who came and made The Wild Stride what it was. Whether you walked the full route, joined us at the vineyard, came for the festival, volunteered, supported from afar or simply shared what we were trying to create - you’ve all played a part. Thank you to @tibbsfarm for once again opening your gates and making us feel so welcome. To @charlespalmervineyards for providing one of the most beautiful stages imaginable. To our incredible artists, vendors, medical team, photographers, everyone who helped set up and pack down, and to the Sussex countryside for reminding us just how lucky we are to spend time in places like these. Most of all, thank you for embracing what The Wild Stride is all about. Community has always been at the heart of this event, and seeing hundreds of people sharing a day outdoors through hiking and live music made every bit of effort worthwhile.
