LOS ANGELES ACTOR HEADSHOTS — DEVIN McELVOGUE. Some faces arrive at the studio already halfway to a painting. Devin’s distinctive features called for a restrained approach: soft directional light and space for his expression to do the work. A direct gaze, warmth, and something held in reserve. For me, a compelling headshot leaves room for possibility. It invites a casting director to imagine the actor’s next role. Portrait and headshot sessions in Los Angeles, New York and London. TOM CONNOLLY. ACTORS HEADSHOTS, LOS ANGELES. Working actors need headshots that keep pace with the work. Tom Connolly joined me at my downtown Los Angeles studio for a new series, bringing the presence seen in The Chosen, Sallywood and his leading role as Colonel Henry Bouquet in Love, Courage and the Battle of Bushy Run. A headshot must suggest the performance an actor can deliver. My approach gives you the space and direction to create images with character, honesty and range. Having photographed Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart and Dame Judi Dench, I bring that same care to your session. Book your headshot session in Los Angeles, New York or London through the link in bio, or email Alexandra at al@rorylewis.studio. Day one test run with the NEW OM Pen. I am pretty geeked finally getting hands on with this system in particular and shooting on the OM platform since I have a SWATHE of m4/3 lenses to mess around with. I’ll actually have this camera for the next few days, shooting around with it on my trip. Gonna try to do a video, not really doing too much of a deep dive on the system but moreso on the significance of having small, compact EDC systems! #om #ompen #cameras #m43 #cameratest

Los Angeles Actor Headshots: Travis Quentin Young. Travis Quentin Young brought the full weight of his Louisiana upbringing and Los Angeles-honed versatility into the Downtown Los Angeles studio. Born in Lake Charles and already performing on national television by the age of ten, Young carries a quiet authority that belies his years on screen. His résumé reads like a masterclass in range. He stars in the 2025 SXSW premiere I Really Love My Husband and has delivered memorable performances in Lola’s Last Letter, Stillwater, Teen Spirit, and I Got the Hook Up 2. On television he has appeared in HBO’s Vinyl, Hulu’s Devious Maids, and Showtime’s Who Killed Cooper Dunn?. Perhaps most tellingly, his voice and ADR work can be heard in landmark films including No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, and Happy Feet — proof that his talent extends far behind the microphone as well. Young is also an accomplished musician and composer whose original scores have appeared in independent films. That musical sensibility was evident during our session. He moves with a composer’s awareness of rhythm and space, shifting effortlessly between introspective stillness and sharp, lived-in intensity. We worked with both hard, sculptural lighting that revealed the strong architecture of his face and softer, more open setups that captured the warmth and depth he brings to every role. The resulting headshots reflect exactly the quality casting directors seek: images that hold both the Louisiana grit and the polished Los Angeles presence. They show an actor who can anchor a festival drama one day and deliver nuanced supporting work the next, while his awards for The Replacement Child (Best Actor at Barbados International Film Festival and Outstanding Performance at Winnipeg) underscore the recognition his performances already command. These frames were made to serve that breadth — honest, cinematic, and ready for the rooms where decisions are made. If you are an actor in Los Angeles looking for headshots that actually do the work, the studio remains open for sittings.
