When he cooks… it just hits different 🥹❤️
Nothing sweeter than your man stepping into the kitchen and making your cravings come true ✨

Chicken Karahi Recipe:
Marinate chicken with Greek yogurt, garlic, ginger, red chili, cumin, coriander & salt (30 mins).
In ghee, add cumin seeds, bay leaves & cinnamon → let it turn golden.
Add onions, cook until soft.
Add tomatoes, cook till it melts.
Add chicken, cook on high till oil separates.
Finish with green chilies, cilantro & garam masala.

Serve hot with rice, paratha or naan 😍
Send this to your man… his turn now 😉

KHELA DHULAAAAAA!!
Growing up, when we’d go back and visit home, one of the main things I’d do was hang out at the chai dhokan (tea store). Elders would sit along creaky wooden benches and gossip rajneeti (politics) or whatever timepass they can think of. Teenagers would be in the back of the shop lighting up cigarettes, hiding from relatives and neighbors from the community, keeping to themselves as a form of respect. But one thing would surely bring them all together, Khela Dhula. I’d sit and watch a mix of teenagers and elders gamble bags of potato chips and fried dhaal over games of Carrom and Ludo at night when the shops would get lively. During my voluntary 9 month exile six years ago (I say exile as a joke btw lol), it was Carrom and Ludo that brought a peace of mind to everyone during a global crisis.

Thank you to Noshin, Reza, and Bangla Medium @bangla.medium.co for putting together such a beautiful event with even more amazing people. Seeing it all firsthand, truly a love letter to the chai dhokan nostalgia I experienced growing up.
