“To be Asian American is to exist at the intersection of invisibility and hyper-visibility. Like any double edged sword, it's an experience difficult to put into words.
Recognizing this, Photographer Andrew Kung and Art Director Djiun Wang's PAPER photo series, "Dawn," explores the crucible of resilience. From the over-sexualization of Asian women to the myth that Asians cannot be American, Kung and Wang's work is a love letter to their community that says, "I see you and I love you," in no words at all.”

This been a rough week. Like millions of others, I was laid off on Tuesday. Just when I felt like I was getting a grip on adulting, the unknown strikes. Trying to stay busy as best I can. Started taking online courses, reading books that been collecting dust, FaceTiming friends, and doing this self portrait project has helped. I’m blessed to have such an amazing support group of friends and families. Tagging a few of y’all in the last pic. Love you all. We gon be alright. -

Thankful for @earlllgrey opening my eyes to more parts of our Mexican American heritage. I’ve learned so much thanks to her research, understanding the negative associations of this subculture were spread by mainstream media. And having the opportunity to understand how the history alongside this fashion has influenced to this day. Pachuco culture is complex in its many influences and media misrepresentation; but it’s part of a history that continues to evolve. #mexicanamerican #pachucostyle #hispanicheritagemonth

Izzy Lapidus is a 17-year-old senior and proud Girlboss. She is devoted to inspiring girls to pursue STEM, and is founding @first.empower a social enterprise with the mission to enable girls to pursue STEM, cultivate sisterhood, and instill confidence in the next generation of female visionaries. Izzy also has a deep love for Astronomy, and conducts research under an astrophysics fellow at the Natural History Museum in NYC. Just last week, her team made scientific history discovering 2M2351B, a brown dwarf companion to low-mass star 2M2351A. Izzy shows girls that a scientist doesn’t have to just be an old white dude in glasses, and that a girl dressed in all pink can discover an object in space, too.
