Banyan Dance Festival 🤎 It’s 2-months post event and I feel like I’ve finally processed everything that took place at the most incredible inaugural event. Ericka and I have been talking about this for years and for it to finally come to fruition is an experience I am truly grateful for. I’m grateful for every artist who trusted us enough to say yes. Every dancer who showed up and gave their whole self. Every choreographer who shared their work, mind and heart. Every teacher, student, volunteer, partner, sponsor, photographer, videographer, venue, small business, friend, and stranger who helped bring this vision to life. Over 80 artists. Artists from across the country and around the world. New connections. New opportunities. New friendships. Local artists employed. Audiences experiencing dance in new spaces. And a community that I hope continues to grow far beyond one festival week. Banyan is so much bigger than me, but I’m incredibly proud that I get to build it. Thank you to everyone who believed in this vision, supported it, showed up for it, and helped make it real. Until summer 2027…Or Winter 2026 😉 ——— Banyan Founders: Branndi Lewis & Ericka Squire CEO & Artistic Director: Branndi Lewis Programs Director & Curator: Loni Landon Resident Choreographer: Sean Aaron Carmon Resident Choreographer: Babatunji Johnson Resident Choreographer: Loni Landon Choreography Fellow: Betty Garcia Slide 2 & 4: One Battle After Another, @hookedonsean Slide 6 & 12: We Together, @babatunji Slide 10: Elsewhen, @betty_garciadiaz Slide 14: The Shared Word, @lonifaye Photography & Videography: @strictlymedia Sponsor: Bright Ideas Grant @palmbeachculture Partners & Collaborators: Ballet Florida, Norton Museum of Art, Nora District, CityPlace, Hyatt Downtown WPB

When we launched the Banyan Dance Festival Company, we were overwhelmed by the incredible response from artists across the country. The level of talent made one thing clear: We couldn’t let this opportunity end with a single cast. So, we created another pathway. Introducing the inaugural Banyan Dance Festival Apprentice Company, an extension of our commitment to creating meaningful professional opportunities for emerging dance artists. Please join us in celebrating these exceptional performers: Taylor Butler — Butler University, Class of 2026 Barbara Monteiro — The Ailey School Giulia Sonego — The Ailey School, Class of 2026 Kylie Peitz — Rising Senior, Pace University Michelle Shannon — West Palm Beach-based freelance artist Raegan Shapiro — Indiana University, Class of 2026 These remarkable artists will work with one of our festival choreographers to premiere a brand-new work at the Banyan Concert. Audiences at the Banyan Gala will also enjoy an exclusive preview of the piece alongside an evening of cocktails, light bites, and celebration. At Banyan, we’re committed to building a festival that invests in artists at every stage of their careers because the future of dance is stronger when more artists have a place to grow. Tickets for the Banyan Gala and Banyan Concert are on sale now.
