šŸ¦‹My StoryšŸ¦‹:

Hi! There’s a ton of new people here so here’s my DJ story. šŸ’暟Ž§šŸŖ©

I learned in the summer of 2019 from @djartistic . I was freshly 21 and was totally amazed with the fact that maybe I could learn to DJ. I learned to mix, scratch and do some DJ tricks! We worked with all genres of music, allowing me to become an open-format DJ (I can mix any genre of music with ease… try me, I dare you).

My first gig was actually a few weeks before I learned to DJ. I was basically a human shuffle button. I had no idea on how to truly mix, nevertheless I was determined to try and mix a few songs. Scroll to slide 4 to see me with my tiny controller, my studio speakers I thought would work for an event, and my biggest smile. Off the record, my first ever ā€œgigā€ was at 12 years old when I talked my middle school into handing me the aux at a school dance and made my first ever DJ debut on an app that let you mix songs. šŸ˜‚

I grew up in the Bay Area, so a lot of my style is influenced by early 2000’s hip-hop. Specifically from the hyphy movement. As a teen I found a love for pop, rock, EDM, and truly any music genre I could find. More recently I’ve become a Grateful Dead fan and fallen in love with 60’s-70’s music from the Bay Area.šŸŒ‰

After learning how to DJ (and saying goodbye to my sister and her husband after living in their house for a month… thank you Jenny) I went back to the Bay Area and began to DJ there. When the pandemic hit, everything changed. I went back to college and was sure I probably wouldn’t DJ ever again (thank god that didn’t happen). I’ve since moved to San Diego and you can find me DJing all over the city! šŸŒ†šŸŒŠ

I am so happy I get to DJ and share my music with the world! See you at an event sometime soon? šŸ’–šŸŖ©

Opening tomorrow, in the iconic former home of Basic Pizza, right by Petco Park… this is Far Corner. @farcornersd
Ā
Here, chef/owner Maxwell Senescall—who worked in Daniel Boulud and Andrew Carmellini’s kitchens, then locally at Juniper & Ivy and Mastiff Sausage Company—will reimagine California-style pizza. Think creative toppings and odes to famous pies, like a pie accented with golden fennel and mustard sauce or a barbecue pizza with tri-tip. He’s got Frederico Santos from Square Pizza as a pizza and dough consultant, and Tony Coxum (The Grass Skirt, Searsucker) is heading the bar program.
