TOMORROW 10/10
Sadness brings their deeply emotional blend of atmospheric black metal and shoegaze, crafting immersive soundscapes that blur the line between crushing heaviness and haunting beauty.

Joining them is Barbelith, delivering expansive blackened post-metal filled with layered melodies, dynamic crescendos, and an ethereal sense of atmosphere.

Monterey brings emotionally charged post-black metal, combining soaring textures, introspective songwriting, and powerful moments of cathartic release.

Opening the evening is Mortem Reverie, setting the tone with a dark and atmospheric blend of extreme metal built around haunting melodies, heavy dynamics, and an immersive sense of melancholy.

Baltimore legends @barbelith_ playing at @metro_baltimore last Friday before heading out with Sadness and Oldest Sea for a little fall tour action.

They’re gonna be at Underground Madness this weekend, then have a handful more North/East US dates after that, so take advantage of the chance to see a truly stacked lineup while you can!

Barbelith is among my favorite Baltimore black metal bands, and both Mirror Unveiled and their split with Trhä stay in my most played records in the genre (and not just because they are fam). Their music has a uniquely introspective vibe and exists in a really complex emotional space. Tbh there’s just not a lot of black metal out there quite like it.

It also can’t really be overstated how much the DIY scene owes Barbelith and @thirdhouselabel - Openly lefty black metal bands are too few and far between, and they do a lot to nourish community around them that goes way beyond just music. Just a truly exceptional band made up of some truly exceptional people.
