Final post about West regionals.

The prep for this meet, the sweat and tears, the cutting weight, the self doubt, and most importantly the passion and determination to get past my obstacles is what made this meet so so so special! I cried A LOT.

While waiting for weigh ins, since this cut was so much easier than the first time, I doubted that I was gonna weight, I was overwhelmed with the fear of failing this first step, not only did I make weight, I weighed in at the lowest ever! 214.5lb!! About 6lbs under what I needed! Words cannot express the relief I

Waiting to warm up nearly had me in tears, the anticipation, the excitement, and just the wait to get started had me feeling some type of way! I showed up with purpose to prove every negative feeling I’ve ever felt towards myself wrong. I did more than that too, for the first time in a very very long time, I impressed myself! I was ready, my body knew what to do, I was hungry!

I was so beyond proud of my abilities to conquer my fear, my body image struggles, to be okay with failure, to learn from it, and to keep fighting. I received 3rd place and although it would have been so cool to get 2nd. I can’t be mad. This is my 3rd meet ever, I’ve been competing for a year, and made some incredible progress while losing weight. Reflecting on the year or competitions, from last October to this last weekend I’ve added 117kg/ 260lb to my total score.

Next time I’m going for 1st, I’m pushing for a lower weight class, I’m ready to qualify for nationals, mark my words. I have so much more to give to this sport and this is just the very beginning.

Larger recap later, but here are all my 3rd attempts. I nailed my dead’s, robbed on squats, and bench was a technical error, but I’m so so so happy that every lift came up whether or not it counted for my total! ❤️❤️
Squat: 172.5kg/380lb (3 reds for depth)
Bench: 80kg/176lb (technical issues)
Deadlift: 162.5kg/358lb (My only 3rd attempt that counted)

I worked my ass off for this meet and the results showed. I weighed in at a new low, 214.5lb and hit all platform PRs!! ❤️ I literally will not shut up about this meet! So I apologize in advanced 🥳 @barbellaaaa

Day 4: Deadlifts
Let the anxiety begin!!
Long story short, today was a bit disappointing, but we showed up and did everything we could! This isn’t just about lifting the biggest weight, it’s about showing up for myself and doing it for me! ❤️

Yallllll, the meet is coming up quick! Bench has never been my strong suit, it’s been a constant struggle. But we’re setting up for a ✨meet PR✨

Behind the scenes, I was feeling stressed, insecure, and overall disappointed. Watching the videos back, they were not as bad as I thought and had visioned in my head. This is a reminder to be kind to yourself ❤️
