LAST SATURDAY RECAP: RENEGADE OPEN MIC WAS A HUGE SUCCESS 🎤🖤

Saturday night, Austin showed up. And wow.

Musicians, poets, storytellers, and listeners all came together to share their art, their hearts, their time, and their attention. We shared food. We shared space. We made memories.

In a world that feels more divided every day, simply gathering as a community is an act of rebellion. Being in a room together, making art together, paying attention to one another? That’s the most renegade thing we can do. 🤠

Thank you to our musicians who brought the songs. Thank you to our poets who brought the words. Thank you to the community members whose shares leaned storyteller and had us hanging on every word. And thank you to everyone who held space and listened, taking it all in. You made the night what it was.

A special thank you to @sean for bringing tea and sharing it with the community as an act of service. Warm cups, warm hearts. 🍵

See y’all out there. 🌙

Some songs I wrote for her.
Some songs came long before I ever knew her — and somehow still feel like they were made for her.

For all this love, this is what I know: I know it especially through loving her.

In this little clip, we’re singing along to my soon-to-be-released single, “Candles.” (Find the Pre-Save link 🔗 in my bio) And yet, dubbing “No Hesitations” over it somehow works just as well..

Another song that feels like it was describing the surrender.
The fall.
The choosing to be all in.

Funny how songs sometimes know and hold things before we do.

I love you, Habibti. 🤍

…but I did not love your onion-sardine breath yesterday. 🧅🐟 Fun fact, I’m laughing in this bc she decided a garlic-onion-sardine salad was necessary approximately one minute before we filmed this.

We’re back. 🌙

Join us Friday, September 25th for the next Renegade Sessions — our little Austin pop-up music series where we bring good music, good people, and good energy into some of the city’s most unexpected spaces.

We’ve played beneath the glowing treehouse at Pease Park.
We’ve taken over the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge.
And this time?

We’ve got another spot in mind. 👀

📍 WHERE? We’re keeping that one under wraps for now.
🎶 WHO? Robb Safko of EYERL — bringing an intimate acoustic performance to Renegade Sessions.
🎤 HOST: Chris Bronson
📅 WHEN: Friday, September 25
⏰ MUSIC: ~8 PM

EYERL’s sound pulls from soul, alternative, folk, pop & jazz, exploring the strange and beautiful dualities of being human — with a philosophy rooted in returning to the source, to ourselves, and to community.

Sounds pretty Renegade to us. ✨

No tickets. Just RSVP.
Bring your friends, a blanket, a water bottle, some snacks if you want to share, and your best people.

And yes… we’ll be revealing the location soon. 😉

👉 RSVP via the link in bio / Partiful

Come hang.
Stay curious.
We’ll see y’all somewhere in Austin.

P.S. Artist tips & donations are always welcome and deeply appreciated ❤️ We’ll have Venmo QR codes available day-of if you’d like to show the artists some love.

🥹 Still at it.

The biggest thing that’s helping me? I don’t try to “white knuckle” cravings.

Instead, I give myself all the (KETO-CARNIVORE) snacks… as long as they’re foods that fit the bill. If I’m tempted to cheat, I make something I’m genuinely excited to eat and don’t feel guilty about having PLENTY of it if that’s what keeps me on track.

I had to remind myself today:

It is NOT worth falling off.

Every time I’ve strayed, I’ve felt it. And every time I come back to ketovore, I remember why I keep choosing it.

I have more energy. Less inflammation. Better mental clarity. More stable moods. I just feel… better.

Progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about making the next right choice. 🤍

If giving yourself an extra plate of bacon, cottage cheese, eggs, or steak keeps you from caving and ordering a pizza later… (or finishing what’s on your friends plate 😥) that’s a win.

🫡 📔 Dear food diary… ✍️ Had such a helpful chat with my therapist today. 🧠💛

One thing that really landed was the reminder that sustainability always wins over intensity. I’ve done a lot of work around adjusting my expectations and working with my own rhythm instead of constantly fighting against it—especially when it comes to job applications. 💻✨

Instead of telling myself I need to apply to AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF jobs today, and getting psyched out — I’ve been focusing on my non-negotiable handful each morning before I even get out of bed. ✅
It’s been a game changer.

But I realized… I haven’t been extending that same grace to my fitness, or to learning / upskilling. 🏋🏻‍♀️📚

I’m so often all in or not at all.

If I can’t do the 2–4 hours of studying I imagined, I won’t touch it at all. If I can’t get to the gym and make the lift look exactly the way I’d like it in my ideal, I’ll push it off to another day and skip it altogether! With the deep learning for example - Instead, why not make the goal 30 minutes? Heck… make it 15. ⏱️

Lower the psychological barrier to entry so much that everything beyond it feels like bonus points. 🎮✨

Consistency beats intensity when intensity isn’t sustainable.

On another note, here’s what today’s 2MAD — Two Meals a Day looked like! 🥩🍳

I’d actually never heard the term until I saw it on one of @low_carb_karo ‘s posts. I’ve been pretty unplugged from the keto community on social media for a while, so I really appreciated it crossing my radar. It feels like such a natural fit for the way I already enjoy eating. 🥹 And automatic hunger signals!

If you’re someone who struggles with the all-or-nothing mindset too… maybe this is your reminder that:

✨ 15 minutes.
🥩 One meal.
🏋🏻‍♀️ One workout. (simple ones too)
… COUNT 👏🏽

Sometimes the smallest promises are the ones that teach us we can trust ourselves again. 💛

Would recommend — 1010% 🤤

Okaaay 👏🏽 🫡 Reporting to the diary…

Full disclosure, this actually isn’t today’s food 😂—it was Tuesday’s breakfast, but it was SO GOOD. 🥹

As for today… well…

✅ Job applications (actually started sending my non-negotiable handful before I even rolled out of bed 😅)

Highly recommend doing the thing you have the MOST resistance to first. The rest of the day feels lighter. (Just neurospicy tips and tricks 💡) Gotta keep that executive dysfunction from getting outta hand 🤭

✅ Drank my water & stayed hydrated.

✅ 30 Days to the Splits routine. Day2/of/30

✅ Stayed on track with ketovore.

🏋🏻‍♀️ Gym…?… 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not so much.

But tomorrow I’ll stack a longer LISS cardio session onto my lift. Not as punishment—just because I’ve been wanting to add one dedicated, longer cardio session into my week anyway, and it’ll feel good knowing I followed through.

That said…

I’m still proud of today.

I had so many opportunities to cheat, and every single time I came back to the same thought:

It’s just not worth it.

Not for 10 minutes of satisfaction.
Not when I know how much better I feel eating this way.

So here’s to another promise kept. 🥩🧠💪

One meal.
One decision at a time. Moment by moment.

Brick 👏🏽 by 👏🏽 freaking 👏🏽 brick 👏🏽. 🧱😤

🥩 Today’s Ketovore Breakfast
• 1 can sardines with extra virgin olive oil (red chili flakes)
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup cheese curds
• 2 cloves minced garlic
• 1/4 cup sliced black olives
• Finished with flaky sea salt
*Everything fried up in the oil from the sardine can 🥹😋

Macros:
729 calories
🥩 60g protein
🧈 50g fat
🌱 6g carbs

I’m currently eating 2 main sit-down meals a day, so I like making each one nutrient- and calorie-dense enough to keep me fueled. After a quick nap, I’ll head to the gym, and my pre-workout will simply be a coffee with heavy cream (might even melt in a tbls of butter)

DAY 1 of Posting 💥 ..Truthfully, this isn’t Day 1. It’s Day 5.

I fell off over the weekend, fasted on Sunday, and started fresh on Monday. I’m tired of the cycle of making promises to myself only to break them a few days later.

So this account is different.

I’m documenting this journey as much for my own accountability as anything else. I’m curious to see what happens when I consistently fuel my body with foods that genuinely make me feel my best.

For me, that’s a ketovore way of eating, regularly strength training, getting outside, sleeping well, and building habits I can actually sustain.

If you’ve ever been someone who’s been “on and off” more times than you can count, you’re in good company.

Follow along and let’s see where this goes. Maybe we’ll both surprise ourselves. 🥩🧠💪🏼
