I designed my own minimalist front cover for my favourite @zephyring_music song called “Black and Blue” I love how the choruses sound harsh in-your-face and punk rock but the verses although melodic seemingly to me offer a window of vulnerability and a sound that i find heartbreaking. like when everyone else around you seems happy but your dying inside. The riff sounds nostalgic like you’re reflecting on past events and experiences, losses or untaken opportunities that you now regret. It’s the perfect song for anyone who loves punk, has been through some things. Sits with the feelings in their mind. Has been “bruised” by life and has “bruises” on their soul that are indeed BLACK and BLUE. U2 coined the term “Songs of Experience” and this is certainly one of them. Perfect song writing by @pyndoll.

Hangin with Barbwire Dolls at The Whiskey when they were the house band there for a few years running! They might hold the record for most shows at the famed Whiskey A Go Go!

Goodbye to 43! 🤪

It's been a fulfilling year of hard work and there's still a lot to do, but I am doing my best to enjoy my work as much and as often as possible!!

Thanks to @photographybybrianleon for helping me celebrate the four year anniversary of creating my LLC in April, and capturing some photos of me, aka @bellydancebyshaula performing at Shimmy for the Shelter a few months ago!

All photos were taken @thefunkcreativecommunity, except the one of me performing, which was taken @realworldballroom2022

Both locations are available for a variety of uses and would love to collaborate with you!!

For those local to NC, I look forward to collaborating with you soon!

For those outside NC, I'm working on creating the money, time, and necessary support system for the business to operate without my presence so I can travel again once in a while!

Either way, I look forward to much more at age 44!! 👵😄💝

Today, after 4 years, Cages For Preachers can officially announce the end of our contract with Grunge Pop Records.

The termination of our contract with GPR was a purely professional decision agreed upon mutually by ourselves and the team. We have loved every second of our time on the label and sincerely appreciate all they’ve done for us.

For now we’ll be operating as an independent band.

This is not the end.
Announcement Friday, 7PM.
