“What the beyond of teaching is really about is not finishing oneself, not passing, not completing; it’s about allowing subjectivity to be unlawfully overcome by others, a radical passion and passivity such that one becomes unfit for subjection, because one does not possess the kind of agency that can hold the regulatory forces of subjecthood, and one cannot initiate the auto-interpellative torque that biopower subjection requires and rewards.” Stefano Harney and Fred Moten, The Undercommons: Fugitive Planning & Black Study

summer is gone and it
makes no sense
Or maybe its my grief
Imprinted on the backs of leaves wet
From the waterfall
full
Of empty bellies and frenetic moving
Dancing
Sweating
Running
Reaching
Wanting to see you
Reassure you
And not being
allowed to.

Why is it that winter comes
And i can’t really see it
Only the sharpness of cold
Snaps my eyes open
I see a landscape of red and brown
The blood mingled in the
Dirt grass
As it balds and becomes an overwintered field
It promises everything
So
Much
But will there ever be
another season?

So many thank yous to so many people for an amazing -also highly chaotic- summer at @bardmfa. This summer I experimented in many different ways around vibration -with subwoofers, transducers, vibration motors- and worked and thought around resonant bodies, earthquakes, touch, fear and desire, humor and the sublime. Bryce @iv_act, Elin @kuoe000 and I also invented a Mini Vibration Orchestra.

Special mention to all the Music/Sound people (students and faculty) and the Bourne dorm for all the love. A toast to new friendship ✨
