I’ve always loved playing in DC. We’re kicking off this run with a free show at the Kennedy Center, which feels like a pretty surreal and amazing way to start.

Kingston is where I live, where I walk my dog, where I write and make noise in the basement. O+ Festival is such a important part of the community. I’m honored to be a part of it.

Philadelphia will always feel like a home away from home. I spent so many years there, made so much music there, and became the person I am there. There are old friends, old hangouts — so much history attached to playing Philadelphia.

Seattle is one of those places that has always felt naturally connected to this music. I love the the subdued grace of the Northwest. I’m especially excited to bring these new songs there. They feel like they belong somewhere with big trees, gray skies.

Beautiful Portland, surrounded by wildness. Playing just south of city in Milwaukie gives us a chance to be a little outside the center of things, which I really like. I’m looking forward to spending some time in Oregon. And I swear, someday I’m going to learn how to pronounce it correctly.

Roseburg is exciting to me because it’s not a city I get to play every time we’re out west. I love the idea of bringing the music somewhere that feels a little more unexpected and seeing who shows up. Touring is at its best when you get out of the obvious places and find a room full of people who are genuinely excited that you came.

I’ve always loved the feeling of Eugene—green, creative and surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscape in Oregon. There’s a slower pace to it that I really like, and it feels like a proper place for these songs.

We loved playing HopMonk Novato a couple years ago. An amazing space, with excellent sound. I’m pretty sure we can turn a Tuesday night
