My CD - Collection
Syntec - Upper World CD 💿
VÖ: 04.04.1995 Machinery Records
Bedeutendste Single: „Angel“
Changre: Synth/Electro- Pop, EBM,
Produktion: Uwe Kallenbach
Cover: Edition Petrushka

Was denkst Du?

Big Country - Look Away 🎶🎸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, the lead single from their 3rd studio album 💿The Seer💿, both released in 1986.🎶 🦅😃👏

My hit from 1986 for today comes from Scottish rock band Big Country and it was their only charting success on the German🇩🇪 singles chart that year.

Big Country released their single „Look Away“ as the lead single from their 3rd studio album 💿The Seer💿 back in April 1986.💿🎶😍👍

The song charted in the following countries:

🥇in Ireland 🇮🇪
5 on the US 🇺🇸 Album rock tracks chart
7 in Finland 🇫🇮 & the UK 🇬🇧
11 in New Zealand 🇳🇿 & South Africa 🇿🇦
14 in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
18 in Switzerland 🇨🇭
19 in Germany 🇩🇪
24 in Australia 🇦🇺
27 on the European Hot 100 singles chart

„Look Away“ was the band‘s only hit single on the German singles chart, peaking at no. 19 and staying just 2 weeks on the German top 20 in June / July 1986. Although they charted with quite a few albums on our albums chart back in the 80‘s, this was their only hit on the German singles chart.🎶😃👏

It feels quite odd to say they were a one hit wonder in Germany, because they had a lot of other songs that charted in the UK 🇬🇧 back in the days. But technically they were a German one hit wonder! 💿🎶😉🙏

I always liked this song and still do today! It‘s a song that is still played on the radio over here. 📻🎶🥰👏

@bark5284 Have you ever listened to this Big Country album?!💿🎶🤔

What is your favorite song or album from Scottish rock band Big Country? What is your favorite song from „The Seer“ album? 💿🎶😊

New Order - Music Complete (CDSTUMM390 / Europe / 2015)

There is a YouTube Video of Daniel Miller from around the time Mute released "Music Complete“ and he got asked if he would sign "The Cure“ as well as there were rumours that Robert Smith was in the studio recording new stuff with his band and Daniel said he likes them a lot, more their earlier stuff, but he would not sign them as he only sings acts he is really, really passionate about.

Daniel was very diplomatic in that interview, I have to say - a propper gentleman.

Key Live 2025
Hamburg, Grosse Freiheit

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Alison Moyet live ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
