My foster Buzz’s first adventure 💕

He’s already spoken for!! He goes home to his new family after his neuter next week.

When I first got Buzz, he was scared to be touched or have a leash put on. Walks were scary, and he was terrified of other dogs.

Now he LOVES dogs, asks for attention and pets, and gets excited for walks and adventures!

I’m so proud of my little buddy and how far he’s come. And I’m so happy he found a family who already loves him so much! 💕

Yes! HES ADORABLE!!!! And looking for a great home!

Buzz came to us fearful of EVERYTHING and has made soooo much progress! He now loves people, but prefers gentle massages and petting. He loves dogs once he gets a few minutes to meet them and realize they aren’t going to hurt or rush him. He loves toys, chew toys and of course a good zoomie around the yard a couple times a day 🤣

He’s still learning about the outside world, so walks are definitely not his favorite yet 😂 It takes him about 3 hours to go one block 🤣🤣🤣 He needs someone who will let him go slow, stop and take everything in because he has literally NEVER seen any of this before!

Buzz was born in a yard with his siblings and never left. So cars, people, sidewalks, noises, walks… it’s ALL new to him.

I’m looking for a quieter home with a yard and at least one nice dog who actually enjoys interacting and playing with him. His dog friends really help him feel safe and continue building confidence. ❤️

He MUST have:
• A yard
• A friendly dog who will enjoy interacting with him
• Someone willing to go slow and continue helping him learn that the outside world is safe

He’s 2 years old, low energy, healthy and a stocky, strong 9 pounds of scruff 😂❤️ He LOVES toys of basically any kind and is such a sweet little dude.

Reach out if you want more info on Buzz!! ❤️

If I could make you stop scrolling for three dogs, I’d want it to be these three. 🥹

There are SO many amazing dogs waiting for homes, but these are three I genuinely cannot believe people are sleeping on.

🐾 JJ — Every time I see JJ, I tell him I wish I could adopt him myself. 😂 I seriously love this dog. He’s sweet, goofy, cuddly, playful, loves other dogs and is just SO much fun to be around. He’s thriving in foster, but he deserves a forever home of his own.

🐾 Pico — This girl is so much more than the time it takes to earn her trust. Pico is brave, sweet, adorable, smart and SO silly once you know her. She loves her walks, loves her people and has worked so hard after surviving distemper. I just wish more people got to see the Pico we get to see. 🥹

🐾 Dexter — Seriously, one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet. He LOVES people, loves dogs and is just happy to be part of whatever you’re doing. His back legs don’t bend, but that hasn’t stopped him from walking, playing, going up hills or even paddle boarding. This boy is seriously incredible.

They don’t need everyone to choose them. They just need one person to finally say, “that’s my dog.” 💗

Could it be you?

🐾 MEET ADOPTABLE DEXTER • DIFFERENT LEGS, UNSTOPPABLE SPIRIT. ❤️

Take one look at Dexter’s little back legs and you might think about everything he can’t do.

Spend five minutes with him, and you’ll realize Dexter has absolutely no idea he’s supposed to be limited. 🥹

Dexter is an adoptable Belgian Malinois mix with @theanimalpad here in San Diego, and both of his rear legs are immobile and unable to bend. No one knows for sure whether he was born this way or if an injury caused it.

But Dexter? He adapted. 💪🐾

He uses those back legs almost like little crutches, walking completely upright and independently. He can go for outdoor walks, tackle hills, play, explore and get himself wherever he wants to go. He does not need assistance to walk, and he is not incontinent.

And behind those unique little legs is the SWEETEST soul. ❤️

🥰 Affectionate and cuddly
🐶 Dog friendly
🎾 Loves toys, fetch and tug-of-war
🦴 Very treat motivated
🐾 Leash trained
❤️ Loves attention and being close to his people

Dexter’s story hasn’t been an easy one. He once had a home with an older woman and several other dogs. Sadly, when his owner passed away, the other dogs found places to go, but no one would take Dexter. He ultimately ended up on the streets before The Animal Pad stepped in and gave him another chance.

Now he needs someone to give him the chance that matters most: FOREVER. 🏡❤️

Dexter is used to having companionship and does experience separation anxiety when completely alone. His dream home would be a calmer household with people who are home often, ideally another doggy friend or two, and older kids/teens rather than young children.

Please don’t look at Dexter and feel sorry for him.

Look at him and see a dog who ADAPTED. A dog who PLAYED. A dog who kept moving forward even when life gave him every reason not to. 🥹❤️

His legs may work a little differently, but his heart works absolutely perfectly.

📍 San Diego, CA
🐾 Available through @theanimalpad
💌 Apply to adopt Dexter through The Animal Pad

Please SHARE this reel. You never know whose screen Dexter’s future family might be scrolling on today. 🏡✨
