The Barleycorn Awards are gearing up for their 2026 fall competition.

Why hold two competitions a year? Because plenty of distilleries have new bottles arriving late in the year, and want an opportunity to earn recognition before the holiday season.

Spring and fall winners ultimately compete for Best in Show to close out the year.

Hear the full conversation in our interview on Film & Whiskey.

When @onednp ordered a @makersmark on our first date, little did I know this beautiful woman / bourbon fan would spark a charred oak fire in me, save my life and support me in doing what I love. Today, I join my heroes in the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, because she always supported me. And of course, I wouldn’t be here without you, the reader, listener, viewer and event attendee. Your support helped me build a path in the ever-changing bourbon world!
So many people to thank in my speech Sept. 14, but @kzrabbithole led my nomination process and @dannywimmer / @dannyhayesdwp helped me understand my path was not just as a writer with @bourbonandbeyond. @claybusch has been my managerial rock thru it all.

Congrats to my fellow classmates of the 2026 Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame! This year’s speeches will be live-streamed on @bourbonpursuit; my pals Kenny and Ryan will join me one day as HOF members.

Thank you, all!

We are excited to announce that our Double Oak Bourbon has just been awarded Double Gold at the John Barleycorn Awards for Fall 2025— a competition judged by folks who taste products from all over the world and certainly know their spirits.

Our Double Oak has always been a favorite, reflecting the standards we hold ourselves to and the craftsmanship behind every barrel we put our name on. We hope this moment brings even more people the chance to enjoy what we’ve been so passionate about creating. Great bourbon is meant to be shared, and we’re excited for more folks to experience it with us.

Here’s to good bourbon, good company, and everything ahead.

Cheers! 🥃✨
