Is the running shoe rotation dead?☠️

At some point the running shoe rotation stopped being a rotation and turned into a full-blown collection. The idea of having a nice organized 5-shoe setup sounds great until one new daily trainer, one super trainer, and one race shoe later somehow turns into 25 pairs sitting in the office. We talked about this on the latest Mileage Pod and came to the conclusion that the mythical runner with a perfectly curated rotation might not actually exist anymore. Full episode drops tonight on YouTube, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts🎙️

How many shoes are in your “rotation” right now?

Are people sleeping on this shoe?⬇️ 😴

On the latest episode of The Mileage Pod, we broke down our top 10 most slept-on running shoes and one that came to mind for Yowana was the Asics Metaspeed Ray. After revisiting it for a 21-mile long run, the ride completely flipped the script—bouncy, soft, incredibly lightweight, and just flat-out fun to run in. While it may not have the aggressive snap of something like the Fast-R 3, the smooth feel and marathon-ready performance made a serious case for being one of the best race day options that hobby joggers might be overlooking 🏃‍♂️

Be sure to catch the full list on The Mileage Podcast wherever you listen to your podcasts🎙️ What’s a running shoe you think people are sleeping on right now?⬇️

Does this broccoli sprout shot really help hobby joggers?👀

We talked about just that on the Mileage Podcast and kept coming back to the same question… does it actually move the needle for everyday runners. The science people reference sounds interesting, but it’s tough to say how much the shot truly translates to better training, recovery, or performance in everyday runners. At the end of the day it can’t hurt but it definitely makes for a fun debate among mileage-obsessed hobby joggers🌱

Do you think products like these are worth trying?⬇️

The @lining.official Red Hare 9 Ultra is a category defining shoe👀

Somewhere between a daily trainer and a zone 3 champ, the Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra doesn’t fit neatly into the usual boxes. The ride feels more mechanical and rhythmic than expected, giving it a bounce that naturally nudges the pace faster without feeling like a true workout shoe. It’s not something we’d reach for to hammer intervals, but it also doesn’t feel like a pure max-cushion cruiser either. In practice it almost behaves like a zone 2 champ… basically just an elevated daily trainer that keeps things smooth while quietly pushing the pace ⚙️

What category would you put the Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra in?⬇️
