Working in partnership to help communities thrive.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We believe in representing something bigger than ourselves, and we’re so honored to have installed Dignity of Work at the Worker Opportunity Center. This mural brought together community artists in training and the people this space serves, and it’s a reminder of what public art can do: make stories visible, build skills, and create a more vibrant community. Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped us paint this mural!

Special thanks to Leia Onofrey for capturing the installation on video! @leiaonofrey

I’ve teamed up with @embracebos and [@barrfdn / The Barr Foundation] for @everyone_250 to honor the generous people and organizations who created places where Boston could learn, heal, worship, and belong.

This piece shares how our next chapter should reflect not only what we accomplish, but how well we care for ourselves—and one another through acts that ignite peace, love and faith.

This showcases the work that foundations and nonprofits are doing in Boston and across the country every day.

Whether you’re a true Bostonian or have recently relocated to this beautiful city, I invite you to explore the Everyone250 historical markers and connect more deeply with yourself, your community, and the stories shaping Boston.

Powering public entrepreneurship for @cityofboston. ✨

On October 14, Pilot City and our Office for Emerging Tech will host the City’s first-ever Pitchfest. Government workers will pitch ideas to university faculty supporting public programs, policies, or operations. Eight selected projects will be eligible for expert support and seed funding, paired directly with local university faculty and fellows.

Boston, like many American cities, overflows with innovators, cutting-edge research, and STEM talent. Pitchfest empowers public servants to partner with local experts to scale and implement projects for the public good. Many thanks to @barrfdn for their generous support and @bostonarearesearchinitiative for their continued partnership!

RSVP at pitchfestboston.eventbrite.com. This event is open to all, with a virtual option available.

The event will run from 1:00pm to 3:30pm on October 14th at Boston Public Library. More information can be found at pilot.city/boston.

In this week’s ArtWonk, @thisiskimco traces a growing conversation around living wages, wealth concentration, and collective action in the arts.

At “Creative Labor: A Boston Cultural Policy Summit,” hosted by Company One Theatre, artists, funders, and policymakers gathered to discuss the economic conditions facing cultural workers and the beginnings of a collective agenda for Boston’s arts sector. Córdova reflects on calls for greater investment and collective pressure, while asking what such an effort requires from a field that functions with divided ranks.

The conversation echoed concerns raised elsewhere in Greater Boston by artist Josh Kline, who spoke at MIT about labor and the rising costs of making and showing art, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who addressed wealth concentration and its broader consequences for society in a recent talk at Harvard.

Plus: LaiSun Keane, a contemporary art gallery, announces its closure after nearly six and a half years, Whitney Museum workers prepare to strike, Boston librarians raise concerns over prolonged vacancies, Julia Child’s former Cambridge home hits the market, and more.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on September 23 at the National Arts Club for Artadia’s annual New York Luncheon. Board members, artists, partners, and friends came together to celebrate the artists and community at the heart of Artadia.

A special thank you to our seven Awardee Hosts—Diedrick Brackens (@deedsweaves), Alison Croney Moses (@alisoncroneymoses), Nile Harris (@nileharris), Gyun Hur (@gyunhurstudio), Nyeema Morgan (@nyeemamorgan), Stephanie Syjuco (@ssyjuco), and Charisse Pearlina Weston (#CharissePearlinaWeston)—representing all seven cities where Artadia has presented Awards throughout its history. Their presence brought the breadth and vibrancy of our artist community into the room.

Our celebration was led by Co-Chairs Laura Roberson Fisch (@laura_rob_fisch) and Margot Ziegler (@margotkz1), who honored Artadia Founder Christopher E.
