It sayโ€™s that โ€˜thereโ€™s never a dull moment on the dutch streetsโ€™.

The Dutch have given a new meaning to โ€˜Cyclingโ€™ as a tool for mobility.

โ€˜Cargo Bikesโ€™ are often used as a mini vehicle for various purposes-from dropping kids to school, shipping personal goods and parcel deliveries ๐Ÿ“ฆ, to pop-up shops in community markets and moving groceries. The streets are visually creative with people on bikes and trikes, effortlessly practicing a culture of active mobility and silently carrying a message of sustainability.

In the last picture, Jos Sluijmans, Director of the International Cargo Bike Festival @cargobikefest (ICBF) showed me his city of Nijmegen as we comfortably moved around while making face-to-face conversations. Jos has been telling human-centred stories of those who ride cargo bikes since a decade.

The next edition of the ICBF will take place in the city of Utrecht on 12-13 October 2026 and you get a chance to personally meet Jos and his partner Tom Parr.

The event will host several exhibitors, industry experts, speakers and panels opening up new opportunities for visitors. Drop me a message and I will be happy to interact with you at the event.
