Move over, Angelo and Maxie’s… there’s a new star on the New York City dining scene. Bar Rocco at the Kimpton Era is taking over the “Lullaby of Broadway”, thanks to everyone’s favorite chef, Rocco DiSpirito.

This Italian-American brasserie has it all….from crafted cocktails at a their beautiful ceramic bar to a dining experience like no other. We indulged in a spectacular seafood tower piled high with oysters Rockefeller, lobster tails, caviar, olives garnished with anchovies (my favorite) and juicy shrimp. And that was just the beginning. We savored Mama’s Meatballs, Pappardelle Genovese, Spaghetti Pesto e Burrata, sautéed salmon with agrodolce, garlicky broccolini, and to top it off….. Rocco’s Italian Burger.

Bar Rocco is a must-do for any New Yorker or visitor to the Big Apple. Thank you Rocco and your incredible team for your great service, hospitality, creating this dynamic spot for all of us to enjoy.

Read more about Bar Rocco in our upcoming December issue of Los Angeles Magazine. And maybe we’ll see Rocco back out in LA again… one can only hope!

Mama Made it so Rocco can make it.

Rocco brings food with a soul. His beloved Italian Mother “Mama Dispirito” showed him more than how to cook but in the way to serve others with love and care.

The energy you put in your food resonates on the plate that you serve. Chef Rocco imbues that in every meal that he dished out for What’s Cookin’.

A real person is roccin’ that apron and using his hands with grace, with a taste that’ll put a smile on your face. We embrace it with open arms and the hospitality at Bar Rocco reflects that.

That’s what What’s Cookin’ is all about.

There's a restaurant hidden inside a Midtown hotel, steps from Rockefeller Center, that almost nobody knows about.

We got behind the bar with @roccodispirito and made his famous “GINtrified Negroni” together.

This is L'Aperitivo. And we're just getting started. 🍸

“You know what I thought was important to bring to Midtown at this time was something for everybody. A little bit of Italian-American magic, a little bit of fine dining, a little bit of all day dining but elevated. Dishes that people love, giving the brasserie model an Italian flair.”

Rocco’s always going to bring it home.
