FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST RECAP 🔥

Back to school for the kids 📚
Cooler weather has returned 🌵🍂
And OH… two of the hottest shows happened!!

🔥 @desertdawg_cardshow After Night Card Show
🔥 @arizonastatecardshow Annual Card Show

Desert Dawg Pops had his USO Club lowrider posted up front for everyone to check out! 🚘🔥

FYI — in October, they’re hosting a card show alongside his USO chapter and the lowrider club! Come check it out. You definitely don’t want to miss that one!

ASCS NEVER disappoints! Tons of vendors, tons of cards, and plenty of action. My biggest regret? Not getting there sooner! 😂

Met vendors from all over Arizona and even outside the state. I always enjoy taking a few minutes to chat, hear their feedback, and see how well they did at the show. That’s one of my favorite parts of this hobby — building relationships and learning from everyone along the way.

Now this wraps up the first week of August, and it’s time to prep for THREE events this weekend, all across Arizona:

📍 Friday — Scottsdale
Trade Night

📍 Saturday — Prescott
Setting up at the Prescott Card Show

📍 Sunday — Phoenix
VIP North Card Show

Sunday will be extra special because I’ll be coaching a new vendor and showing him the ropes. He currently has a promoting gig with an upcoming card show in October, so I’m going to put him through the real-world grind and see his true potential. 😂

Three events. Three cities. One weekend.

See you all out there!!!

More pics, more thoughts.

Twenty-five years ago this September, three male teammates and I ran, hiked, roped up, whitewater rafted, rode bikes, pushed bikes through the snow, and navigated our way day and night from St. Mortiz to Zermatt, Switzerland. We were one of 25(?) teams competing in the first Adventure Racing World Championships. We slept for an hour here and there over five days, once on a cliff ledge we would have likely fallen off of had we kept going that night. We woke up with frozen shoes and ice on our clothes.

It was a trip to be back in this beautiful country, covering some of the same terrain, with a new team of three men (one being 14 years old, one 18). My husband and two teenage sons and I lugged heavy backpacks, sometimes in a deluge, to train stations and hotels (much more comfortable than the side of a mountain). We put on crampons and roped up on the Alestch Glacier, canyoneered outside of Interlaken, hiked underneath the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau, and swam in stunning lakes (but not across them). My family put up with a few stories of “back in the day” as terrain looked familiar and reminded me of my old team, our old adventures. But mostly, I stared out train windows and across mountains and valleys and rivers and lakes and recalled old times while appreciating (so much!) the new ones I got to experience with my three boys.

So grateful.

Thanks @5eanclancy_ for the pics from the archive. (And @mttamdan and greg for the race days.)

It was an incredible weekend at Country Calling Festival ( @countrycallingfest ) in Ocean City, Maryland! 🎶🌊

I served as backup for Guest Services alongside some truly incredible crews. The three-day festival included three stages, 25+ artists, and tens of thousands of country music fans.

Highlights: My daughter, Faith ( @faithhpope ), being on the Jumbotron during Gavin Adcock’s phenomenal set ( @gavinadcockmusic ), Luke Borchelt ( @lukeborchelt ) of Maryland performing “Ocean City” right there in Ocean City, and a catered Thanksgiving dinner that brought artists and crews together… turkey, stuffing, the works!

So grateful for the experience and the exceptional professionals I got to work alongside! ✨

Consistency isn’t just a habit—it’s a lifestyle 💪

Barry Siff knows this firsthand. From triathlons to ultra running, he's spent a lifetime pushing limits, only to face some of his toughest challenges yet.

But with the help of Human Powered Health, Barry is proving that recovery and resilience are possible at any stage of life.

Barry Siff has spent his entire life training. On a bike, in the water, or on two feet he was always moving trying to achieve his next race and that all came to a crashing stop in 2022.

Barry had a terrible bike crash and was found unconscious with shattered ribs. He needed emergency surgery including a hip replacement and neck surgery after his injury.

In 2025 he's starting from ground zero. He re-set his baseline metrics at our Scottsdale Performance Lab and is building his way back into Ironman shape.

Barry is the perfect example that True Health is Self-Made and we know he'll be back to race shape sooner than later.
