Happy birthday to my Spreadsheet Lovin’ 80’s Babe🎉❤️🤓

I wanted to look back at Barry before Adeline and all the spontaneous, slightly chaotic, wonderful life that led us to the even fuller one we have now. So many adventures, so much traveling, significantly less gray hair 😂 and apparently… SO much singing. I honestly forgot just how much we’ve sung together through the years, and I love that music has always been such a big part of us. And that voice!!!! Come on (swoon)❤️.

We may have aged each other a little along the way, but we’re still young at heart, richer in love and life experience, and keeping it just as weird.

Looking back just reminded me what a soulmate I found in you. So many versions of us, so many chapters, and they just keep getting better.

Happy birthday, Babe. What a life. ❤️

Guys, I can’t with all these photos, but the first one MELTS me. Anyway, I didn’t post about Adeline’s 21 months benchmark and now my mom guilt and OCD is next level, so here’s a story and some serotonin.

Five days ago, at 8am, Adeline accidentally locked herself in her room.

For the next 30 minutes, Barry and I were trying everything we could think of to get her out while she was having the absolute time of her life. She was drawing, laughing, hanging out with all her stuffed animal friends, and generally thriving. Barry was mid shower. I was panicking. Adeline was completely unbothered.

Thankfully, the 20 foot ladder Barry bought on a whim finally justified its existence.

After one failed attempt through the bigger window, Barry climbed the ladder, squeezed himself through a MUCH smaller window, and successfully completed a very specific Home Depot commercial spot.

Meanwhile, Adeline seemed mildly amused by the whole thing.

When Barry finally made it into her room, she gave him a little pat on the back, apparently concerned about how HE was handling the situation.

Anyway, she’s almost 2 and already locking doors, setting boundaries, and requiring alone time. 😂💕🐥

In preparation of our opening of “If/Then” in a few weeks I wanted to reflect on the past few years of directing. Over the last several years I've directed everything from intimate contemporary plays and new works to large-scale musicals, immersive events, touring productions, and developmental readings.
These images represent a cross-section of the artists, designers, stage managers, musicians, and performers I've had the privilege to collaborate with.
Every production asks a different question. My job is finding the visual language, emotional truth, and theatrical engine that brings that particular story to life.

Aloha from two months ago…🌺

Four islands, a few waterfall hikes, a glass-bottom boat, one fabulous luau, a snorkeling adventure called Turtles & Tacos (no turtles, plenty of tacos) and capped it all off with a lovely pool day reunion with old friends💛.

We spent more time chasing a toddler than laying in the sun, but the unforgettable memories made with family were well worth the trade. ☀️😎🌴🐢🌮🌸
