I’m drinking this version of a banana/pineapple Mai Tai inspired by the Cunning Monkey cocktail, a recipe I found in “Tiki Drinks: Tropical Cocktails for the Modern Bar” by Nicole Weston and Robert Sharp of @moderntiki. The original recipe calls for Falernum, which I need to buy, so I replaced it with Orgeat - along with few other significant alterations. But sometimes you have to make do with what you got! In any case, I assume the name references the fable about the Two Cats and the Cunning Monkey. It’s said that two cats discovered a loaf of bread and began arguing over who saw it first and therefore deserved the bigger share. A cunning (and hungry!) monkey was nearby and offered to settle the dispute by dividing the loaf in equal parts - using scales he happened to have. The cats agreed, so the monkey broke the bread into roughly equal shares and placed them on the scale. To “make it equal,” he bit off some of the loaf on the heavier side and ate it - but each time he did this, the scales would still be uneven. So he repeated the process, nibbling the bread over and over, until he had consumed the entire loaf! The moral: If you’re not satisfied with your share, you may wind up with nothing. Drink is delicious. Will make again - and will also try the original recipe when I have the ingredients. * 1-1/4 oz Tiki Lovers Pineapple Rum (in place of aged rum) * 1 oz Vedrenne Banana liqueur * 3/4 brown sugar syrup (in place of Pineapple Syrup) * 1/2 oz Barsmith Orgeat (substituted in place of Falernum) * Garnish: Lime wheel (in place of Caramelized Banana slices) #cunningmonkey #cocktail #pineapplebananamaitai #tiki #tikidrink

The Rosé Color Glass cocktail. A super simple yet very delicious cocktail that absolutely delivers and I would very highly recommend having for your wedding or Valentine’s Day menu. The lemon juice and bitters mixed with a lil sweetener of simple syrup absolutely brings a combination that is only elevated by the Prosecco Rosé. It’s sweet with a tad bitter aftertaste accompanied by citrus lemon. Again I would highly recommend this cocktail. It’s a really good variation of the Champagne cocktail and is super good. I highly recommend it. Coupe glass, pour in shaker 3/4oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice 1-2 dashes Angostura bitters @angosturahouse 1oz Simple syrup @barsmithmix Shake and strain Fill with Prosecco Rosé @lamarcaprosecco Garnish lemon twist #weddings #mobilebartender #cocktails #cocktailsandmixology #whosthirsty

The Bramble cocktail. A blackberry themed cocktail that sprouts a fruity, yet strong profile when using bourbon, and a herbaceous but sweet profile with gin. You can really taste the blackberry and lemon combo accompanied by the satisfying presence of the bourbon. I would highly recommend using your favorite bourbon, as you can really taste its presence in this drink. It also leaves a very satisfying and juicy aftertaste of blackberry. I would highly recommend this cocktail id you ever want to have a fruity strong cocktail on your menu. Double rocks glass, pour in shaker 1 1/2oz Gin or Bourbon @barrhillgin @woodfordreserve 1oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/2oz Simple syrup @barsmithmix 1/2oz Blackberry syrup @monin_usa @monin_europe @monin_uk Shake and strain Splash Blackberry liqueur on top Garnish blackberries #cocktails #cocktailsandmixology #cocktailsofinstagram #mobilebartender #weddings
