Fifteen years after an initial collaboration, the clients commissioned the redesign of the upper floors of an early 20th-century townhouse in Antwerp, with the ambition to maximize natural light and reinforce the vertical spatial connection.

Clean lines. Honest materials. No excess.

Mid-century minimalism at its best, seen through the home of architect Bart America. A restored 1970s bungalow where function leads, light defines the space, and every detail has intention.

This is the beauty of simple functionalism - nothing added without reason, nothing taken away without thought.

Let the materials speak. Let the space breathe.

This week’s Sunday Saves focuses on marble. It’s one of those materials that never truly leaves the conversation. Forever lux, endlessly versatile and always deserving of a place on the moodboard.

Used playfully, it can add wit and lightness to an interior, bold veining, unexpected colour, sculptural forms. Used with restraint, it becomes calm, architectural and quietly grown-up.

Marble in interiors offers both expression and longevity. It’s a material that works just as well in contemporary spaces as it does in heritage settings, bringing a sense of permanence, craft and confidence to a scheme.

A classic for a reason, timeless, tactile and always relevant.

Save this for inspiration, material references and considered ways to introduce marble into your space. All featured images are tagged below…

Private residence in Bolderberg, Belgium designed by @bartamerica

Surrounded by green and water, this 1970’s bungalow characterized by period-typical large living rooms and smaller service quarters, has been thoroughly renovated by Belgian architect @bartamerica.

By decluttering the existing situation to showcase its former beauty and making contemporary additions, the design restores the home’s original character and timeless atmosphere.
