🔹Visit SUPERFLEX’s participatory installation in Ibiza🔹

This summer, you can take part in the installation @superflexstudio has created in Ibiza, as a preview of the first edition of the Santa Gertrudis Commission.

The renowned Danish group has installed two billboards on the site where the final artwork will be built, with a message in Spanish, English, and Eivissenc. This marks the project’s first appearance in the space and offers a glimpse of some of the ideas that will take shape in the final artwork.

Next to the billboards you’ll find a post with a QR code. We invite you to stop by and scan it, becoming part of the future artwork.

The Santa Gertrudis Commission was presented on June 6 as part of Ses12naus Weekend. At @oceandrivetalamanca, SUPERFLEX revealed the conceptual lines and first details of what will be their first public artwork in Spain, in a conversation moderated by curator @lammerelise, joined by Ángeles Ferragut, director of the Foundation. The event took us closer to the group’s vision and the perspective from which they are imagining and developing their intervention on the island. A few weeks ago we unveiled the billboards at an opening event on the site in Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera.

Thank you @bartomeu_mari @mar_aguilo @xnonoxx and @collasantagertrudis_oficial for being part of the magical evening.

Thanks to @oceandrivetalamanca for hosting us and to @hnosparrot for their support on this exciting new project.

This is only the beginning!

Thank you for making the first Ses12naus Weekend an unforgettable experience ✨

On 5 and 6 June we celebrated ten years of residencies together with artists, collaborators, friends and everyone who came to share these days with us. Thank you for being part of this moment that means so much to us.

Two days of encounters, conversations, gestures and works that open a new chapter for the foundation. A chapter that settles in the heart of Ibiza, in Santa Gertrudis, where we are inaugurating a new annual commision dedicated to public art.

Thanks to the artists and who made this edition possible: @galaknorr @diogovonkreuz @marinamaron_ , and designer @sinasohrab — for the extraordinary work developed during the residency and for everything they have shared with us over these months. Thanks also to @cristina_anglada and @albanlehenry for accompanying the artists and for the exhibitions’ design.

To @superflexstudio for inaugurating Santa Gertrudis Commission with a first performative action that invited us to imagine what is to come.

To @lammerelise for moderating the talk that opened the presentation of the commission at @oceandrivetalamanca and to @bartomeu_mari for contextualising the importance of this commission and public art in Ibiza. To @collasantagertrudis_oficial for the sonadas, to @maraguilo_ and @xnonoxx for the magical closing, and to @leila_ara for the final touch.

And finally, our deepest thanks to the entire team, collaborators and institutions who made this Weekend possible:

@iebalearics @acecultura @oceandrivetalamanca @hnosparrot @bodegascanrich @lafavoritaibiza @mezcalamaras @bernattatjer_wines_ibiza and @hambreibiza

A special mention to: @juntos.farm @casa.lhasa.ibiza @salon.san.miguel @es_terral_ibiza @bottega_ilbuco and @boodiouibiza

Looking forward to continue building together a different way of inhabiting the island through art.

Last days to visit the comprehensive exhibition PARABLES, FABLES AND OTHER TALE TALES of the wonderful artist JOHN BALDESSARI at the PALAIS DES BEAUX-ARTS in Brussels.

Baldessari and Brussels. It is a kind of love story. In the first half of the 70ies he had three exhibitions in the legendary MTL Gallery and since 1989 he was represented by Gallery Greta Meert.
In 1988 I had the pleasure to curate ‘John Baldessari. Recent works’. (Photo 4,5,6) So it was a happy reunion to see various of his works again in the exhibition which is about to end in Bozar. The conversations I had with John are more than precious to me. I remember a long talk about ‘Les mots et les images’ of René Magritte and his importance for many conceptual artists of the sixties. These conversations made it clear why he had such an influence not only through his oeuvre but also as one of the most renowned Art Professors since the Second World War. He inspired countless artists of different generations. The Joseph Beuys of the U.S.A. as he was aptly characterized. Mike Kelley, Matt Mullican, Tony Oursler, James Welling and David Salle to name a few were students of him.
