Want to know one of the hardest parts about being Lux’s mom? 🥺🏁

No matter where he finishes… I’m ALWAYS going to tell him, “Good job, son. I’m proud of you.”

And let me tell you — it drives him CRAZY sometimes. 😂

“Mom, stop saying good job.”

And I always tell him the same thing…

Son, I’m not the one out there racing. YOU are.

I’m not the one lining up at the gate.
I’m not the one racing those long motos.
I’m not the one battling for every position.
And I’m definitely not the one carrying the pressure he puts on himself.

So when he comes off that track safely?

To me… GOOD JOB.

I will never be the mom standing there criticizing every mistake he made or telling him how he should have ridden.

Why?

Because I promise you, nobody is harder on that kid than his own damn self.

He already knows what he did wrong.
He already knows where he could’ve been better.
He’s already replaying the entire race in his head.

He doesn’t need me to be another critic.

He needs me to be his MOM.

To listen.
To support him.
To love him.
To remind him I’m proud of him — whether he’s standing on the podium or walking back to the truck disappointed.

Does it drive my family crazy that I ALWAYS say “good job”?

Yep. 😂

But hey… that’s me.

I’m his mom. I’m his safe place. And I’ll never stop being proud of him. 🖤🏁

And yes, son… GOOD JOB. 😂🖤

There’s something about being a mom standing trackside watching your child race…

Everything feels like it goes into SLOOOOW MOTION.

Every time Lux comes by me, I’m watching EVERYTHING.

The slightest movement of his bike.
His body position.
The way he lands.
The way the bike sounds.
The line he chooses.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I always find myself wondering…

What’s in his head right now?

If you know me, you KNOW I love my music. 😂 And I swear I have a different song playing in my head for every moment my kids are on the track.

This weekend it was Zombie.

🎶 What’s in your head… 🎶

Because while everything looks like it’s happening a million miles an hour to everyone else, somehow as their mom… you see it frame by frame.

And this weekend hit a little differently.

Lux was sicker than a dog and still lined up for the SMX Final. He showed up, put his helmet on and did what he loves to do.

Son, I am SO damn proud of you.

I’ll forever be the mom standing trackside analyzing every movement, probably holding my breath half the time, with an entire soundtrack playing in my head. 😂

Love you, son. Always. 💙🏁

Okay moto parents… I KNOW I’m not the only one.
