We woke up to drizzle and gloom. Thankfully, during my planning, I had bookmarked ideas for less than ideal weather conditions, so we pivoted to cloudy day activities.

📍Glacier Canyon-Grindelwald-Pfingstegg

🚞 ~1hr of trains to Grindelwald ($20 USD total with Swiss Half Fare cards and Swiss Family Pass)
🚎 10-15min bus ride to Glacier Canyon
🎟️ purchased tickets at the gate for Glacier Gorge ($80 USD)
🚶‍♀️walked the 2km out and back path at the bottom of 300m cliffs and river carved by a glacier
⏱️ spent approx 1hr there
🍴lunch at Basecamp; one of our fav Swiss meals! (3 entrees, drinks, and dessert drinks; $190)
🚡 Pfingstegg Cable Car ($32 USD total for round trip with Swiss Half Fare cards and Swiss Family Pass)
🛷 Tobbagan ($8 USD each; technically kids 4-7 need to ride with an adult and are cheaper); First-Fly “zip line chair” ($15 USD adult, $10 USD child)
⏱️ 2 hours at Pfingstegg
🍕pizza dinner at Onkel Tom’s (2 pizzas and drinks, $90)
🚞 ~1hr of trains to Grindelwald ($20 USD total with Swiss Half Fare cards and Swiss Family Pass)

Despite the clouds, we never actually got rained on and had an awesome day!

Save, like, and share this gloomy/rainy day itinerary for when you’re in Grindelwald or Jungfrau! And join along to see the rest of our Swiss adventures 🤗

This trip was all thanks to knowing how to earn and how to use points/miles; follow @justcallmehaha to spend smarter, to travel more, for less! ✈️🌍

Time to go up to Pfingstegg

Can you tell who’s excited and who’s not? 😂

We have alpine sleds in Colorado, but gosh it was more exciting in Switzerland! 😉

Personally we’d say to have adults save your money ($15/adult) on the first-fly; but this was one of our kids favorite activities

It was MUCH cheaper and no line compared to the 3 hour waits we saw at Grindelwald First (not to mention; at 7&9, our kids were much too short for First activities)

NEW CHAPTER. 🚌❄️

It’s been quiet here. Too quiet. For many of you, this will come as a surprise: Our legendary chapter at Stählisboden is officially over. 💔 A massive thank you for all the unforgettable memories at our old location! 🙏🏼

But behind the scenes, the engine is already warming up – we are turning the key! The unique Bus Stop vibe lives on, and we are ready to rewrite the story together with you.

As one era ends, space for fresh ideas is born. And the big question is: WHERE IS THE BUS HEADING? Which spot in Grindelwald desperately needs our warm atmosphere, the "Kafi Motorenöl," and the best mountain community in the Alps to perfectly extend the mountain day? 🏔️✨

Drop your ideas, wishes, and dream locations straight into the comments! Let's find the best solution for our valley together. Where the Mountain Day Continues.

NEW CHAPTER. 🚌❄️

Lange war es still hier. Zu still.

Where the Mountain Day Continues....
