PCAI is happy to announce the third collaborative exhibition of PCAI collection artist Sophia Al – Maria with Lydia Ourahmane at Basement Roma, Italy.

The exhibition if we could just talk in person, will be on from October 07 to November 27, 2026.

If this show is about long-distance lovers,
let’s start with ourselves.

We met in Delphi in 2019.
I fell in love with you—not romantically, exactly—
but with the feeling that this would be forever.

It felt urgent
and not urgent.

Postcards.
Visitations.
Long nights in each other’s company or sometimes on the phone,
in between flings,
in between all the different kinds of love,
you were always there.

How do you sustain love?
How do you hold someone?
How do you make someone feel close?

Curated by CURA.

Sophia Al-Maria (@sxphix_xl_mxrix) is part of ‘if we could just talk in person,’ a two-person exhibition with Lydia Ourahmane (@emogirl4) at Basement Roma (@basementroma), curated by CURA (@curamagazine).

On view from 6 October until 27 November 2026
📍 Basement Roma, Rome, Italy

The third collaborative exhibition by Al-Maria and Ourahmane, ‘if we could just talk in person’ grows out of a friendship that began in Delphi in 2019 and has been sustained across continents ever since, largely through voice notes. Framed as an on-again, off-again correspondence, the show asks how love and closeness survive distance, and what the voice can carry that a letter cannot.

Josh Kline & Simon Denny
The Art Room 12
Soho House Rome
May 12, 2026

The Art Room #12 by CURA. for Soho House Rome presents Current Affairs. A Conversation between Josh Kline and Simon Denny.

The art room is a program of talks and video screenings conceived and curated by CURA. @curamagazine @ilamarotta

Artists Josh Kline and Simon Denny met in 2013. Both were included in Susanne Pfeffer’s landmark group exhibition “Speculations on Anonymous Materials” in Kassel that year. Both Kline and Denny were at the forefront of a wave of artists in the early 2010s who began making work involving bleeding-edge technology and the architecture and design of twenty-first century capitalism. In their work, the two artists—Kline in New York City and Denny in Berlin—focused on technology’s relationship to the politics and economics of our time. In Rome, they will appear in conversation together for the first time. Their discussion will range widely across the topics shared in their work, discussion art made in response to disinformation, deepfakes, information security, as well as the question of “content” in artwork and its relationship to macroeconomics, the perils of political speech in the era of corporate social media and AI, and the possibilities of agitprop in our time. They will also screen some short videos.

Cultura Lituana in Italia is pleased to share “Spit and Image”, the first solo exhibition in Rome by artist duo Dorota Gawęda and Eglė Kulbokaitė (@gaweda_kulbokaite), on view from April 28 to July 10, 2026 at @basementroma.

The exhibition explores doubleness as a shifting condition, where identities are mirrored, split, and reconfigured. The exhibition space unfolds as an ambiguous, liminal zone where perceptual boundaries dissolve into a field of superimposition, entanglement, and instability. Self and doppelgänger, body and technology, real and virtual intersect, as multiple materialities and temporalities overlap to form a speculative, contemporary hauntology.

“Spit and Image” unfolds as an immersive and unstable environment, where perception becomes fluid and continuously transformed.
