NETHERLANDS 🇱🇺 #wokeuphere @heliomare_ ... Never thought I would be so happy to sleep in a hospital! The hardest thing for me through this tragedy has been being apart. 1st time back in bed w/ @basirair since his paragliding accident ♥️♥️♥️ Health Benefits of LOVE: 1. HEALS: literally, studies have found that people in loving relationships heal faster from physical wounds. 2. REDUCES PAIN, studies have found couples have more activation in the part of the brain that keeps pain under control 3. INCREASES HAPPINESS, happiness depends more on the quality of family relationships than on the level of income. @basirair ’s recovery journey is featured tonight @omroepvpro documentary, STUK. Trying rowing for the first time🚤, with @basirair as instructer. Benefits of rowing🌞:➡ 1. Offers a full-body exercise as it trains biceps, lower and middle back, hamstrings, calves and gluteal muscles. ➡2. Helps the heart as it is Cardiovasculuar training. ➡3. Improve teamwork skills as you have to synchronisat with the others who are "rowing with you in the same boot" so we can feel real good after this exercise @mspetit 🌿🌿🌿 (📷 made by @mspetit) #rowing #practicing #water #amsterdamrowing #amsterdam #blue #sports #rowingdivas #holland

For those of you that have ever been in a hospital, then you know how awful the lighting can be. Most of these medical facilities use florescent and LED lighting that emits blue junk light 24/7. This is harmful for the mind and body, especially when a patient is recovering, because blue light tells your body that it's day time all of the time. This makes it very difficult to sleep, let alone be comfortable.
•
•
"Sleep has been Basir's biggest challenge through this recovery process because he needs to get up multiple times during the night (even now)," says @mspetit, certified @Bulletproof Coach, Writer, Health Food Consultant and best friend to @basirair.

As Basir's life partner and supporter, Maria has also spent hours on end visiting Basir in the hospital and staying overnight in @airbnb homes. Prioritizing sleep during this stressful recovery period has been extremely important for her too since she works from the road and needs to be able to show up for her clients while she's helping Basir get better; she simply can't afford to not invest in self-care.

We recently had a chance to interview Basir and Maria in our new Q&A series, and we'd love to share their insights with all of you on how to #StopJunkLight if you ever find yourself in a hospital. To read more, visit the link in our bio! 🏥
