ANNIKA JOHNSTON is off to Bates College! So proud to have her as part of the Tahoe Endurance family and excited to see her take on these next seasons!

Some unhelpful advice for Annika: Don’t pay attention to the rivers, water can flow uphill too!

❄ NENSA recognizes our 2026 Elite and Devo Teams ❄🏆

In February, the animating principle from John Caldwell and the other founders which the NENSA banner was raised under – that if our community mobilized and organized, we could develop Olympic medalists again here in New England – was achieved by Ben Ogden (twice!). What we were especially proud of is that where Ben has gone, he has gone as a NENSA skier, a distinct path, steeped in community, a consistent study of the sport alongside one’s peers, and overall competitiveness.

Here's to cultivating the acreage he helped shed the way for through the drive and passion of our developing skiers!

❄🏆 Introducing: The 2026-27 NENSA @fischernordic Eastern Cup! 🏆❄

As things have mellowed from last winter’s hustle, and New England’s started to bloom once again, the flicker of something new is on the horizon again. As skiers from across the East get back to the woodshed, stacking the days, weeks, and hours that’ll lead to new dreams, there’s a renewed sense of possibility in the air. Word’s gotten out about what’s special about skiing among these ancient highlands, and low endless coasts called New England.

NENSA is proud to carry the fire forward from the woodshed for the New England ski community, by introducing the 2026-27 Fischer Eastern Cup!

❄ Eastern Cup #1: Cheri Walsh Memorial at Holderness School – Holderness, NH
❄ Eastern Cup #2: Quarry Road Trails – Waterville, ME
❄ Eastern Cup #3: Lake Placid Eastern Cup and US SuperTour – Lake Placid, NY
❄ Eastern Cup#4: Oak Hill Eastern Cup and Dartmouth Carnival – Hanover, NH

Always fun to get a bib on and challenge yourself. Had the opportunity to ski the Birkebeiner in Norway 🇳🇴 a couple of weekends ago. It was my first time doing this legendary cross country ski race and I loved the experience of it. It was a year of challenging conditions and I can’t say I was the best prepared for it. But I threw the bib on and gave what I could on the day.

An incredible cross country ski experience, but also a big challenge. 53 km from Rena to Lillehammer through the Norwegian mountains on XC skis with a backpack weighing 3.5 kg (7.7 pounds). As always, racing is a great learning opportunity and I definitely took advantage of that. Lots of things that were positives from my imperfect training (coaching always takes precedence over my own training) but definitely things to take away from it. Lessons that I can learn for my own but, more importantly, event and course lessons that I can help to improve my coaching.

With lax season just around the corner, let’s stick a fork in the Winter of 26 and call it good.

Here are a few of my favorites from the season. As usual — very few of these are truly “great” (or even good) photos. Instead, it’s the person or the circumstance that makes them favorites for me. One example is the shot of @emma_reeeder from the U23 relay in Lillehammer. I needed photos of Emma in her USST uniform from that race and I found a spot at the top of the first climb where I thought she’d be isolated against the sky. As Emma was coming into the frame, I could see someone come BLASTING out of the woods, ringing a bell and cheering like CRAZY as she chased Emma up the hill. Turned out, it was one of her @bridgerskifoundation teammates and Emma’s grin alone makes the photo worthwhile. You get the idea…

One last thing — a big thanks to the Freeport/Yarmouth girl’s hockey and Brunswick/Freeport boy’s hockey team for insisting that I come to their games. Shooting hockey was a blast and I wish I would have had time for more.
