Shivani Siroya started Tala by giving strangers her own money.

Not as a pilot program. As a way of understanding trust. What she discovered: billions of people weren’t excluded from financial services because they were untrustworthy. They were excluded because they were invisible.

Fourteen million customers later, $10B+ deployed across three continents. And now a credit infrastructure layer that partners and builders can connect to directly.

This summer, we made two films to tell that story, working with their team from scripting through animation and delivery. The challenge was real. The subject matter is technically dense, but the story underneath it is elegant and powerful. Trust. Visibility. Insight. And twelve years of hard work to transform an insight into a global company.

Our job was to hold both things at once: get every informational beat right and never lose the human thread. That balancing act is exactly the kind of job we love.

We are starting the year with some big news. Founding Resonant Pictures partner Adam Barton has accepted a job as a Senior Producer at the Madison Square Garden Company, moving on From Resonant Pictures after nearly 15 years.

From day one, Adam’s boundless energy, creative spark, and unflinching work ethic has lifted everyone around him to strive for bigger things and lean into new challenges. We’re positive the biggest and baddest is yet to come for Adam and we’re sending him off with mountains of love and respect.

It’s the end of an epic chapter for our company that started in a spare bedroom office in Brooklyn.

But it’s NOT the end of Resonant’s story. Don’t touch that dial... the next chapter is coming soon.

What is a dreamer without a dream? And what is a dream if it never becomes something real you can feel?
We wrapped our festival run in the UK this Saturday at @asffestival and we finally had our Hometown screening last week on Dia de Muertos in ATL at @resonant.studios where over 200 of you showed up to commune with the living… and the dead. We broke pan de Muertos together thanks to @talpasupermercados, drank cafecito from @cafexito.coffeeshop, honored our passed and living ones at our collective altars, got civically engaged with @poder_latinx & collected coats for @amigosdelacomunidad.georgia We engaged in dialogue about what this film stirred within you. Because this is not a story about one single individual, it is the story of many of us who live in between worlds, dimensions, spaces, and places. In this journey I’ve learned that even when we hear no’s, there is space for our stories and sometimes we have to be audacious enough to create them. And we have. This dream turned reality couldn’t have been possible without the true believers, the believers, the supporters, the creators and the doers. This was possible thanks to our phenomenal and brilliant team of @elregresofilm on both sides of the border and most of all to @bathrock who was the first to jump in head first to produce this film amongst so many other roles. I don’t yet know what’s next but I trust that El Regreso ‘s wings still have some miles to go and I’m excited to explore what’s next.

Absolute honor to refurbish this Caribbean Rhythm Quinto Congo recently! The project was a solid learning experience from cleaning all the metal parts to wet mounting a fresh rawhide on the flesh hoop. Several of the staves needed to be glued, we fabricated a new metal ring for the base and the bearing edge had to be cleaned up as well. These drums are fashioned from used wine barrels so the staining from the wine gives each drum a distinctive weathered vibe. living life always on go, though never boring, gets tiresome and lonely. i got a rare saturday evening off and spent it in #atlanta with my boys. our first time hanging out as a group was a year and a half ago at this same bar, and this is our first return. so much has changed since then.

it got me to thinking, as i watched the footage i shot while getting familiar with my newest camera purchase. (dji osmo pocket 3) 🥲

💭 the revolution of a social circle and our individual evolution share intricacies that mirror the paradox of human connection. how to stay bound to others while we are consistently unraveling and remaking ourselves. friendships can’t resist this change. we find rhythm and we balance and we forgive and we ask for grace and we endure.

i was tempted to turn down this invitation like i have been for the past 6 months. needing time alone to express my creativity for the spare moments i have, has left me missing a key ingredient of existence. people. specifically, your people. they can fill the well much better than a check on your infinitely long to do list.
