I love seeing Halloween items hit the shelves finally and I’ve been enjoying seeing everyone’s finds! HOWEVER, something has been giving me icky feelings and I thought maybe a discussion should be opened up about it. Big businesses are using AI images on their Halloween items. Personally to me, it looks tacky, but the issue goes deeper than that. There are so many talented small businesses and artists that create Halloween / spooky / pin up related art pieces! Big businesses are no longer licensing artists for the use of their artwork. They now create AI images so they do not have to pay artists for their work, boosting the prices up higher than ever. I have seen so many Halloween lovers flocking to Dollar Tree for their AI Halloween Pin Up Girls. As an artist of all things spooky, INCLUDING spooky pin up girls, it feels like a slap in the face. Myself, and many other artists dedicate our lives to creating spooky pieces of art for people to enjoy. People are less likely to buy from small businesses compared to big businesses for Halloween decor. It just fuels the use of AI even more. People would rather buy overpriced and mass produced AI images, than support a real small business/ artist. I encourage you to share this post to shed some light on the use of AI images vs supporting artists that make art by hand and work hard on every piece they make. Artists deserve recognition and credit where it’s due. Please tag some of your favorite spooky artists in the comments below or feel free to repost and tag your favorite artists! Let’s celebrate our weird and wonderful artists and promote their work instead of AI made work!🕸️🎃 I could only tag 20 people and there’s many people I wanted to tag, so do me a favor and tag some spooky artists and spread the word and the love 🧡✨

The crescent city is one that I always look forward to visiting. Its heart beats to the rhythm of magical chaos that is constantly evolving and slithering from light to shadow. Inspiration comes easily when I am there and I will always return to New Orleans. 🌙

The @hellkittenrva clan and myself decided to take a 16hr road trip down for the @odditiesandcuriositiesexpo and it was absolutely grand. Thank you to all who bought a print, took a card, and bought an original piece of art. Everytime you support an artist, we feel it viscerally. You help us pay our rent, groceries, bills, and fund inspirational trips! I feel grateful to be able to live this life. Times are hard right now - I don’t know how long it will last, but I never want to take it for granted. I’m thankful for the incredible O&C crew always being amazing, the wonderful weirdo friends I have gained through these expos, and you, the folks that help me be able to create these unhinged bats and dark fantasy work. A huuuuuuuuuuge shout out to one of my besties who helped me run the booth and my sanity - @devl.ish. 💜

Every trip to NoLA is different. This time included steamboat shenanigans, jazz brunch under a 200 year old wisteria tree, night sacrifice to beignet rat part two, stumbling upon an antique shop that rivaled our local art museum, getting kicked out of a favorite haunt by a ghost, exploring cemeteries with blue angels, and devouring stories from the locals as much as their Cajun seasoned sweets and cocktails. It’s always a great time with the rambunctious RVA crew of @devl.ish, @hollymacabreart, @william_macabre, and @cattoomachine! I’m already looking forward to next year!

After a day of recovery, it’s back to the drawing board now. I feel rested and inspired! Stay tuned for upcoming events and new art. 💜🖤💜

Had a blast at The Oddities & Curiosities Expo! Saw a ton of friendly faces and amazing art. Biggest haul I've gotten from a convention in a long while and I could have stayed in there for way longer just looking at all the awesome stuff there was.

Also I think this is my favorite iteration so far of the makeup for my signature clown look. Got lots of compliments on it too! I do enjoy being around my fellow clown lovers. Would definitely come back here again!
