Batmobile (2 Photos)

The Batmobile from the 1989 film *Batman*, directed by Tim Burton, was conceived by art director Anton Furst. The vision was for the vehicle to serve as a dark, expressionistic extension of the hero, drawing inspiration from fighter jets and classic cars from the 1930s and 1950s.

The vehicle was built upon a chassis formed by joining two Chevrolet Impalas; it featured a V8 engine, a custom-made body, and a two-seater cockpit enclosed by an aircraft-style windshield. The construction process, carried out by a team led by John Evans, took approximately three and a half months.
