MOVE-OUT OVERVIEW: The stats are pending, but the impact is evident. Together, we made a huge difference for our community and the planet.

In the last two weeks, Marlin Marketplace diverted more waste than ever thought possible for its very first “circular” move-out program. All while trying to graduate, founder & head coordinator Lily Reslink ‘26 was hauling wagons around campus and sorting piles of stuff… (but the hectic days and nights couldn’t have been more worth it).

At move-in, students will be able to freely select from a huge inventory of essential dorm items, clothing, furniture, appliances personal care products, and more. Three storage locations on campus currently house these items. These efforts will save Marlins THOUSANDS of dollars and bring the community closer together through sharing.

The growth of Marlin Marketplace has been an incredible journey, especially as its impact only continues increasing. Everyone involved should feel proud.

Please also note that we’re stopping our regular flow of donations on May 7 to focus on saving items that would be wasted on move-out. Donations for move-out begin on May 8. (AND HEY!!! If you’ve got something in your dorm that you know can’t go with you, upload a photo into our digital photo folder for anyone to claim!)

Marlin Wellness partnered with Norfolk Public Library for a Valentine’s Day celebration filled with creativity and care!

Marlins had plenty of ways to share the love, including a romantasy book pop-up, a DIY card-making station, lots of candy and sweet treats, plus helpful resources to support their well-being 💌✨
