For the month of October, GAPS is featuring the local Black owned business called Batter and Baked, LLC.

Alexis Randall is a self-taught baker that started during her years in elementary school. She was inspired by her father and sister when they were baking in the kitchen. Her is aunt talent in making elaborate cakes in the shape of shoes and handbags. Alexis enjoyed seeing the reactions from people's faces when they saw these elaborate cakes. She knew at that moment that she wanted to start baking. After she graduated college, Alexis took professional cookie and cake decorating classes and turned it into a business. Relatives and her husband help with the process. Batter and Baked specialize in custom cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. To learn more, you can connect with her via @batterandbaked
Thank you for collaborating with GAPS!

Channeling this joy today, even though I’m not really feeling very joyful. I’m feeling pretty heavy if I’m honest. But I’m working towards finding something to celebrate each week, even the little things- even the hard things. My friend @jelabela taught me that and it has served me well so far. I bought a @the_confetti_project confetti gram and it’s been a constant reminder for me to pursue joy in all things. ✨
