Growing up, I always dreamed of having a place where I could truly give back.

Becoming a therapist allowed me to help people heal. Becoming a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach gave me something even greater—the opportunity to help shape lives.

Every day I get to watch kids gain confidence, young men become gentlemen, and people discover they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.

I’ve always believed that whatever you put out into the world eventually comes back to you.

This year tested that belief.

I became a dad. ❤️ Between fatherhood, running a business, moving into a new home, renovations, and recovering from a concussion over the last six weeks, I’ve felt exhausted more than once.

Then life reminded me why giving back matters.

First, the team at Keiko Sports @keiko_sports went above and beyond to celebrate my first Father’s Day with an unexpected gift. A small gesture that meant a lot.

Then came belt promotion day at TON DOJO.

Seeing Étienne earn his blue belt, Justin his purple belt, and Fab his black belt filled me with pride. But the moment I’ll remember most was when my training partner of 17 years, Jason, gave me my fourth stripe on my brown belt with the approval of my coach, @alexmasterskya .

He told me he wanted to be the one to give me my last stripe because years ago I helped him earn his black belt, and that I’d built a community that helped people become better.

That meant more to me than the stripe itself.

Sometimes we get so caught up in life’s challenges that we forget the impact we’re having on others.

Yesterday reminded me.

Keep showing up.
Keep helping people.
Keep building something bigger than yourself.

One day, it finds its way back.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey. We’re just getting started. 🙏🥋
