🛹💛 A new session, a new generation of girls on skateboards!

We’re excited to introduce our Girls Only Skate Session at Gaia Soul Skateboarding Club, every Wednesday from 4:30pm to 6pm, right here in Maaliyadda. And yes, it’s completely FREE!

At Gaia Soul, we believe skateboarding should be for everyone. We want Sri Lankan girls to have the same opportunity to discover the freedom, confidence, creativity and pure joy that come from getting on a board.

We also understand that, in Sri Lankan culture, there can be strong expectations about how boys and girls should play, interact and spend their time together. Making skateboarding more accessible means being sensitive to these local attitudes, listening to families and creating a space where girls feel comfortable taking their first push, finding their balance and discovering what they're capable of.

This isn't about keeping girls apart. It's about creating a space where they can start.

To all the girls in Maaliyadda and the surrounding villages: you don't need to be fearless, experienced or even know how to stand on a skateboard. You just need to be curious enough to give it a try.

Every skater starts somewhere. Every new skill begins with a wobble. And every girl who rolls down that ramp is helping open the door for the next one.

Let's build confidence, community and a skateboarding culture where Sri Lankan girls know they belong. ❤️
