Goodbye, August 👋🏽!!!

I have had such an amazing month and I really want to thank everyone who took the time to share it with me, whether at a conference, in the air, or simply hanging out!

This semester has already been so promising right at the start and I’m so excited to continue growing and learning.

But I am SO ready for fall 🍂 🎃

I had the honor of introducing @theresaclaiborne at Elizabeth City State University’s national aviation day event. I will add a part of my speech below, highlighting the impact that she continues to leave on me everyday.

“Captain Claiborne showed me what was possible, but she also taught me what would be required to achieve it. She taught me that excellence is not something you announce, it is something you practice. She taught me to learn from my mistakes, to work hard and then work harder, to hold myself to a high standard, and to leave the door open for the young women coming behind me. Because of her, I know I belong in every room I have prepared myself to enter. I know I am qualified. I know that I will earn my success. And I know that when more is required of me, I am equipped to rise to the moment.”

Thank you so much to @united and @obapexcellence Adcension for this incredible experience. I left feeling very moved and motivated ❤️ You already know we had to go get some Chicago style deep dish pizza after 😎
