But here’s the truth… they don’t have to 👀

When extensions are applied correctly, maintained regularly, and removed professionally, your natural hair should be in the same condition than before.

Here’s my honest advice as a long time extension specialist:

Always have a professional consultation- Not every method suits every hair type, I fit 5 different methods of extensions and fine, coarse, short or long all need different approaches.

Go to a reputable extension specialist- This is so important. A trained fitter understands tension, placement colour matching and blending so your extensions look seamless and keep your natural hair healthy.

Aftercare is everything- You don’t necessarily need sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner that’s only for certain methods. Your extension specialist will give you the best aftercare routine for the type you’re wearing.
Keep your bonds or tapes clean and dry at the root.
Never go to bed with wet hair & always fully dry your hair before sleeping. Use a silk pillowcase & bobbles.

Brush daily- with a soft extension brush, starting from the ends. Sleep with your hair in a loose plait or silk wrap to avoid tangling.

Stick to your maintenance schedule- Every 6–8 weeks (depending on your method) is ideal don’t go too long between refits or you risk matting and tension.

Don’t forget to treat your scalp too!

Don’t overload with product-Too much oil or conditioner on the bonds can cause slipping.

Always get your extensions removed professionally- We’re trained to use the correct removal products and techniques to protect your natural hair DIY removal is where most damage happens.

When extensions are done right, they enhance your hair not ruin it.

Healthy hair and extensions can 100% coexist.
