Congratulations to Dr. Richard Rankin Russell on being being appointed as Director of the University Scholars (UNSC) Program in Baylor’s Honors College! The English department is delighted for Dr. Russell as he takes on this important leadership role. Read about Dr. Russell's thoughts on this honor below:

What is your favorite part about teaching at Baylor?

My favorite part of teaching at Baylor is the students and their love for learning and joy in Christ. Our students in English, for instance, love reading and discussing great works of literature, and their passion for the literature is always rejuvenating.

What do you most look forward to about serving in this leadership role?

I really look forward to working with many faculty friends and staff in the Honors College whom I've gotten to know over the years and whom I've always wanted to get to know better. It's already been revivifying to work with them!

Start spreading the news!🗽🚕🗞️ I’m excited to announce that following graduation this May, I’ll be heading to New York City to pursue an M.A. in the History of Art and Archaeology at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University…truly a dream come true!

I feel incredibly blessed to have such supportive family and friends that have helped me through every season. Their encouragement and belief in my abilities have been instrumental in helping me reach this milestone. So ready to make the most of this; thanks be to God for it!
